TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2020 GMC SIERRA 2500. THE CONTACT STATED THAT UPON DRIVING OVER A HILL AT 45 MPH, A VEHICLE WAS STOPPED IN THE MIDDLE OF THE ROAD. IN AN EFFORT TO AVOID HITTING THE VEHICLE, THE CONTACT DROVE THE VEHICLE OFF THE ROAD AND INTO A CONCRETE CULVERT AT THE END OF THE RAVINE. THE AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY UPON IMPACT. THE AUTHORITIES WERE CALLED TO THE SCENE AND THE CONTACT WAS RUSHED TO A LOCAL HOSPITAL VIA AMBULANCE. THE CONTACT WAS DIAGNOSED WITH FRACTURED VERTEBRAE THAT MAY REQUIRE POSSIBLE SURGERY. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED AT THE SCENE. DUE TO THE ACCIDENT, THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHERE THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE DEALER NOR THE MANUFACTURER HAVE YET TO BE NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED AND SOLD. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 15,500.

RETURNED HOME AFTER SOME SHOPPING. PARKED TRUCK IN DRIVE WAY. APPROXIMATELY 5 MINUTES AFTER RETURNING HOME MY WIFE SAW TRUCK SMOKING FROM UNDER THE HOOD. WITHIN ANOTHER MINUTE OR TWO THERE WERE VISIBLE FLAMES COMING FROM THE BACK EDGE OF THE HOOD. WE CALLED 911. WITHIN 5 MINUTES THE ENTIRE FRONT END OF THE TRUCK WAS ENGULFED IN FLAMES. THE FIRE DEPARTMENT ARRIVED AND PUT OUT THE FIRE BUT THE ENTIRE FRONT AND CAB OF THE TRUCK WAS DESTROYED. FIRE INVESTIGATORS DETERMINED FIRE STARTED AT BACK OF ENGINE COMPARTMENT NEAR BATTERY. VEHICLE WAS STOPPED PARKED IN OFF CONDITION. IN MY DRIVEWAY. NO MECHANICAL PROBLEMS WERE NOTICED ON RIDE HOME AND THERE WERE NO PANEL ALERTS FOR PROBLEMS.

LOOSES ALL CONNECTIONS TO PHONE, MAPS, BLUETOOTH ETC...., THEN OUT OF THE BLUE TODAY THE AIRBAG LIGHT AND SERVICE SAFETY RESTRAINT SYSTEM WARNING CAME ON! THIS IS SO DANGEROUS AND IS GOING TO CAUSE ME TO HAVE A WRECK!

ACCIDENT HAPPEN 5/20/20. WAS APPROACHING A STOPPED VEHICLE WHEN THE BRAKES FAILED. KEPT TRYING TO APPLY BRAKES AND NOTHING HAPPEN. IMPACT AT APPROX 35 MPH. AFTER IMPACT THE TRUCK STARTED TO ROLL BACKWARDS AND HAD TO PUT IN PARK TO STOP THE TRUCK. TOW TRUCK DRIVE ALSO HAD ISSUES LOADING ON THE ROLL BACK, BRAKES WOULD NOT WORK. WE TOWED TO OUR BODY SHOP FOR REPAIRS. THEN WAS TAKEN TO FAULKNER DEALERSHIP FOR EDR TESTING. NOTHING MECHANICAL WAS EVER DONE WITH THE TRUCK AFTER THE BODY WORK WAS DONE. BOSCH RELEASED THE TRUCK TO THE DEALERSHIP. TRUCK HAS 513 MILES AND LITTLE OVER 200 OF THE MILES ARE WHAT WE DROVE IT. PURCHASED WITH MILES ON IT. FIAT / CHRYSLER DO NOT SEE AN ISSUE WITH THE TRUCK VIA THE REPORT. I HAVE SENT THE REPORT TO A SEPARATE PARTY THAT IS NOT HIRED BY FIAT AND THEY INDICATE TO RESEARCH PAGE 42 OF THE REPORT ON THE MASTER CYLINDER BRAKING SYSTEM. WE DO NOT SEE ANY INDICATION ON ANY CODES THAT WERE RECOVERED PERFORMED BY BOSCH. WE KNOW IN FACT THAT THERE WERE MULTIPLE BRAKE CODES AND FEEL THAT THE INFORMATION IN STILL IN THE "BLACK BOX".
