DATE OF INCIDENT: 10/17/2020. CHECK BATTERY LIGHT CAME ON AND THE VEHICLE'S ALERT MESSAGE INDICATED THE CAR WAS IN 'BATTERY SAVING MODE'. NO PREVIOUS INDICATORS HAD APPEARED TO INFORM THAT THERE WAS A BATTERY ISSUE. A SHORT WHILE LATER, ALL POWER TO THE VEHICLE STOPPED WHILE DRIVER WAS ON A HIGHWAY. THE ALTERNATOR IN THE VEHICLE WENT OUT. THIS HAS HAPPENED TO ENOUGH VEHICLES WITH THIS ALTERNATOR MODEL THAT ALL PARTS STORES IN DULUTH, MN AND SUPERIOR, WI WERE OUT OF PARTS. ADDITIONALLY, THE MANUFACTURER HAS ALSO BEEN OUT OF STOCK WITH THIS ALTERNATOR, INDICATING THAT THERE IS A FLAW WITH THIS PART. WITH SUCH LITTLE (AND INACCURATE) WARNING, THIS WAS AN INCREDIBLY DANGEROUS SITUATION TO BE IN.

BATTERY WAS DRAINING WITHIN THE FIRST YEAR. REPLACED IT AND HAPPENED AGAIN WITHIN A FEW MONTHS. COULDN'T FIND THE PROBLEM. CONSISTENTLY NEEDED TO CHARGE AND BOOST THE BATTERY. LEFT ME STUCK WITH MY KIDS IN THE CAR SEVERAL TIMES. LIGHTS ON DASH KEPT GOING ON AND OFF GOING BLACK & BACK ON. DIFFERENT LIGHTS KEPT COMING ON LIKE SERVICE AIRBAG, STABILITY TRACK, ENGINE LIGHT, ETC. GIVING FALSE READINGS, FINALLY WHOLE MIDDLE CONSOLE WENT BLACK, HEATER TURNED ON AND WOULD NOT GO OFF, COULD NOT ACCESS TEMP CONTROL, RADIO, BLUETOOTH, ETC. BATTERY AND POWER WAS THE MAIN ISSUE.ELECTRICAL PROBLEMS. STARTED IN MAY OF 2018, MY LEASE RECENTLY EXPIRED AND HERE I AM SITTING AT THE DEALER 05/27/2020 FINALLY HAVING THEM TRYING TO GET TO THE BOTTOM OF THESE PROBLEMS THROUGHOUT MY 3 YEAR LEASE. *TR

WHILE DRIVING ON I-95 IN PALM BEACH COUNTY FLORIDA, IN HEAVY TRAFFIC, I CAME TO A STOP AND THE CAR AUTOMATICALLY SHUT OFF. THIS IS WHAT IS SUPPOSED TO HAPPEN. HOWEVER, WHEN I TOOK MY FOOT OFF THE BRAKE THE CAR DID NOT RESTART. WHEN THAT HAPPENED THE ENTIRE CAR WENT DEAD. I COULD NOT TURN ON THE HAZZARD SIGNAL, I COULD NOT LOCK OR UNLOCK THE DOORS, ONSTAR WOULD NOT WORK. I PUT THE CAR IN PARK AND TRIED TO RESTART THE CAR. NOTHING AT ALL HAPPENED. I THEN TRIED TO PUT THE CAR IN NEUTRAL, BUT IT WOULD NOT SHIFT TO NEUTRAL. I THEN TRIED ONSTAR AGAIN, BUT EVEN THOUGH THE GREEN LIGHT WAS ON, NOTHING HAPPENED. I GOT OUT OF THE CAR SO THAT IF IT GOT HIT, I WOULD NOT BE HURT. THE CAR WAS IN THE RIGHT DRIVING LANE OF AN EXTREMELY BUSY HIGHWAY AND I COULD NOT GET IT OFF THE ROAD.

I PURCHASED MY VEHICLE OCT 31,2017 AND WITH IN THE FIRST TWO MONTHS THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON AT 1,400 MILES. I TOOK MY VEHICLE INTO THE DEALERSHIP IT WAS PURCHASED FROM IMMEDIATELY AND WAS TOLD NOTHING WAS MECHANICALLY WRONG AND IT WAS OKAY TO CONTINUE DRIVING WITH THE LIGHT ON. IT EVENTUALLY WENT OUT ON ITS OWN JUST TO COME BACK ON A MONTH LATER, I AGAIN TOOK IT TO THE DEALERSHIP THIS TIME TO BE TOLD I NEEDED A NEW VACUUM BRAKE BOOSTER PIPE. AFTER THE PART WAS REPLACED THE DEALERSHIP THEN TOLD ME I NEEDED TO HAVE THE BRAKE BOOSTER PRESSURE SENSOR REPLACED. THREE DAYS AFTER THE SENSOR WAS REPLACED THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT WAS BACK ON AT THIS POINT THE DEALERSHIP HAD NO MORE ANSWERS AND WAS REPORTING MY ISSUE TO GM AND HAVING ONE OF THEIR TECHNICIANS LOOK AT MY VEHICLE. I BROUGHT MY VEHICLE BACK IN FOR A FOURTH TIME BECAUSE THE LIGHT CONTINUES TO TURN OFF AND ON INTERMITTENTLY AND DUE TO MY KNOWLEDGE OF THE LEMON LAWS ON A BRAND NEW VEHICLE GM IS NOW INTERESTED IN PURCHASING MY VEHICLE BACK AND TO THIS DAY THE TRANSACTION HASN'T HAPPENED BECAUSE I FEEL AS THOUGH I AM BEING PENALIZED FOR THEIR ERROR. THE LIGHT STILL GOES OFF AND ON AND I'VE NOW HAD THE VEHICLE FOR SEVEN MONTHS AND THERE STILL ISN'T AN ANSWER AS TO WHY.

I RECENTLY PURCHASED A VEHICLE AT FELDMAN CHEVROLET IN NEW HUDSON MI ( LOCATED AT 30400 LYON CENTER DRIVE E, NEW HUDSON< MI 48165 : 248-573-0321 ) I PURCHASED A 2018 CHEVY EQUINOX ( VIN [XXX] ) THE WEEK OF THANKSGIVING 2017 I WAS DRIVING THE VEHICLE ON THURSDAY 2/15/2018 WHEN MY SOLID STATE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT ILLUMINATED. I IMMEDIATE HIT THE ONSTAR AND THEY GAVE ME A CODE OF P3055 AND TOLD ME TO TAKE TO THE DEALER WITHIN 7 DAYS. . I WAS TOLD IT WAS A ' VOLTAGE COMMUNICATION ' ISSUE AND THAT I SHOULD BE ALL SET, IT WAS RESOLVED. THE FOLLOWING 2/21/2018, WHILE OUT AT LUNCH DURING MY WORK DAY, THE SOLID STATE CHECK ENGINE LINE ILLUMINATED YET A 2ND TIME. THIS TIME THEY SAID MY VEHICLE NEEDED A NEW ' ENGINE CONTROL MODULE ' - THAT WAS REPAIRED, APPROX. 2 WEEKS LATER, MY " SERVICE ESC BRAKE/ TRACTION CONTROL CAME ON" AND WOULD NOT GO OFF, THEY HAD THE VEHICLE A WEEK AND DETERMINED IT WAS A GROUND SHORT. HERE IT IS 3/23/2018 AND A 4TH TIME MY CAR IS AT THE DEALER, ESC/ TRACTION CONTROL AGAIN. 4 TIMES IN 5 WEEKS MY VEHICLE HAS NOW BEEN IN TO THE DEALERSHIP, AT 8,000 MILES .RIDICULOUS- ALL OF THIS HAPPENED WHILE DRIVING. WHILE DRIVING AT NIGHT, MOVING SLOWLY IN A TRAFFIC JAM ON A FREEWAY, THE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER TOTALLY WENT OUT. THE RADIO CONTINUED TO WORK, BUT THE SPEEDOMETER WAS NOT FUNCTIONING. I CONTINUED TO DRIVE ABOUT 20 MILES WITH THE CLUSTER AND SPEEDOMETER NOT WORKING. AFTER ARRIVING AT MY DESTINATION AND TURNING OFF THE ENGINE FOR ABOUT 20 MINUTES, I RESTARTED IT AND SAW THAT THE CLUSTER WAS VERY DIM AND THE SPEEDOMETER WAS ONLY BARELY READABLE. AS I DROVE IT, THE BRIGHTNESS SLOWLY INCREASED. THE NEXT MORNING, THE SPEEDOMETER AND THE REST OF THE CLUSTER SEEMED TO BE NORMAL. I TOOK THE CAR TO THE DEALER FOR REPAIRS, THEY WERE UNABLE TO FIND THE PROBLEM SINCE THE CAR WAS WORKING NORMALLY AT THAT TIME.
