MY CAR WOULD NOT DOWNSHIFT, I WAS GOING 50 MPH ON FREEWAY AND IT WAS RAVING BY ITSELF AT 5-6000 RPMS....AT DEALER NOW THEY TELL ME I NEED A NEW TRANSMISSION COOLER!!! THIS VEHICLE HAS BEEN A COMPLETE LEMON, HEADLINER CAUGHT ON FIRE WHILE I WAS DRIVING, DUE TO RECALL ON VISORS WHICH HAD ALREADY BEEN PERFORMED. ALTERNATOR CAUGHT ON FIRE DUE TO RECALL THEY HAD NO FIX FOR..ENGINE HEADS REPLACED, RECALL...TOTALLY UNSAFE, AS MY VEHICLE LOST ALL POWER, LIGHTS STEERING, WHEN ALTERNATOR WENT OUT.

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2012 DODGE DURANGO. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS PREVIOUSLY REPAIRED AT THE TUTTLE CLICK TOFTIN CHRYSLER DODGE JEEP RAM DEALER FOR TAKING A LONG TIME TO CRANK. AFTER UNKNOWN REPAIRS WERE PERFORMED, THE VEHICLE STALLED WHILE DRIVING AT VARIOUS SPEEDS. ON ONE OCCASION, WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 35 MPH, THE VEHICLE SUDDENLY STALLED. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE FAILURE OCCURRED FREQUENTLY AND, IN ORDER TO RESTART THE VEHICLE, THE GEAR SHIFTER HAD TO BE PLACED IN NEUTRAL OR PARK. THE CONTACT RESTARTED THE VEHICLE AND IT BEGAN TO PULL TO THE RIGHT, VEERED OFF THE ROAD, AND CRASHED INTO A BRIDGE WALL. THE AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. A POLICE REPORT WAS NOT FILED AND THERE WERE NO INJURIES. THE SHIELD OVER THE WHEEL WELL DETACHED, AND THE FRONT PASSENGER SIDE TIRE, SPOILER, AND RIM WERE DAMAGED DUE TO THE CRASH. THE CONTACT TOOK THE VEHICLE BACK TO THE TUTTLE CLICK TOFTIN CHRYSLER DODGE JEEP RAM DEALER, BUT IT WAS NOT REPAIRED DUE TO THE REPAIRS BEING AT THE CONTACT'S EXPENSE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND AUTHORIZED THE DEALER TO PROVIDE A SECOND REPAIR; HOWEVER, IT WAS NOT VERIFIED IF THE REPAIR WOULD BE FREE OF CHARGE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED A SECOND TIME AS OF YET. THE VIN WAS UNKNOWN. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 124,000.

VEHICLE WAS PURCHASED ON 9/1/14 AND BEGAN EXHIBITING PROBLEMS IN FIRST FIVE DAYS. 9/3/14, THE CAR DID NOT START ON THE FIRST PUSH OF BUTTON, BUT STARTED ON THE SECOND ATTEMPT. ON 9/5/14, THE CAR WAS RUNNING AND IN PARK, I ATTEMPTED TO PUT THE CAR IN GEAR (DRIVE) AND IT BEGAN SHAKING SIDE TO SIDE. THE CAR DID NOT MOVE WHEN I PUSHED THE ACCELERATOR. I PUT IT BACK IN PARK AND HIT THE STOP BUTTON AND THE ENGINE TURNED OFF. IT STARTED ON THE NEXT ATTEMPT. ON 9/20/14, HAD A SIMILAR PROBLEM STARTING, BUT THIS TIME IT TOOK MULTIPLE ATTEMPTS AND THE ENGINE SPUTTERED A BIT AND EVENTUALLY SHUT OFF. I TRIED IT AGAIN AND IT WORKED. MY DAUGHTER ATTEMPTED TO START THE CAR THE SAME DAY AND HAD THE SAME ISSUE. 9/21/14 EXPERIENCE THE SAME ISSUES WITH THE CAR NOT STARTING. ON 9/22/14, I DROVE IT TO WORK AND IT STARTED FINE. UPON LEAVING WORK THE CAR FAILED TO START ON THREE ATTEMPTS, BUT EVENTUALLY STARTED. WHEN I STOPPED 15 MINUTES LATER THE CAR WOULD NOT START AGAIN. I PLACED ONE FOOT ON THE BRAKE AND I HIT THE ACCELERATOR AS I STARTED THE CAR AND IT WORKED. I DROVE HOME AND ATTEMPTED TO START IT AGAIN TO TAKE IT TO THE DEALERSHIP, BUT IT WOULD NOT START. AFTER SEVERAL ATTEMPTS IT FIRED UP, BUT BEGAN SHAKING REALLY HARD SIDE TO SIDE. I PUT IT IN DRIVE AND THE SHAKING WAS WORSE. I PUT IT BACK IN PARK AND THE CAR BEGAN SPUTTERING AND LURCHED FORWARD AS THE ENGINE SHUT DOWN. I WAS ABLE TO START IT A FEW MINUTES LATER AND DRIVE TO THE DEALERSHIP. IT HAS BEEN AT THE DEALERSHIP SINCE 9/22/14 AND THEY HAVE NOT BEEN ABLE TO FIX IT. I SPOKE WITH A CHRYSLER REPRESENTATIVE WHO INDICATED THAT A RECALL FOR THE FUEL PUMP RELAY WOULD GO INTO EFFECT ON 10/24/14. THE DEALERSHIP HAS ASKED ME TO TAKE THE CAR UNTIL THE RECALL IS IN EFFECT, DESPITE THE FACT THAT BOTH THEY AND CHRYSLER ARE ACKNOWLEDGING THE SAFETY DEFECT. BATTERY LIGHT CAME ON. MADE AN APPOINTMENT FOR SERVICE. NEVER MADE APPOINTMENT DATE. A/C WENT OUT, AIRBAG LIGHT CAME ON, RADIO STOPPED, LIGHTS FLASHED, WINDSHIELD WIPERS STARTED. CAR STALLED OUT WHILE DRIVING 30 MPH, LOST POWER STEERING. NO CRASH, ROLLED TO A SAFE STOPPING AREA. CAR WAS TOWED TO DEALER. DEALER SAID THE CAR NEEDED NEW BATTERY. NEW BATTERY WAS INSTALLED BUT CHECK BATTERY LIGHT WAS STILL ON. AFTER MORE TESTING, DEALER SAID ALTERNATOR NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. NEW ALTERNATOR WAS INSTALLED, BUT BATTERY LIGHT WAS STILL ON. DEALER PUT CALLS TO CHRYSLER. CHRYSLER SAID POSSIBLE BAD NEW ALTERNATOR REPLACE WITH ANOTHER NEW ALTERNATOR SUGGESTED. NEW ALTERNATOR REPLACED BUT SAME THING STILL HAPPENED, CHECK BATTERY LIGHT STILL ON. AFTER MORE CALLS TO CHRYSLER, NEW PCM ( POWERTRAIN CONTROL MODULE) SUGGESTED TO BE INSTALLED. PCM WAS REPLACED AS WARRANTY PART, NO CHECK BATTERY LIGHT. TOTAL COST OF ABOUT $1,000.00 FOR OUT OF WARRANTY PARTS. WITH IN A WEEK CAR WAS NOT STARTING, WOULD CRANK BUT ENGINE WOULD NOT START OR IT WOULD START AND THEN STALL OUT, CAR WOULD FINALLY START AFTER 20 MINS. OF TRYING TO START CAR. THIS HAPPENED SEVERAL TIMES. TOOK CAR BACK TO DEALER. SOFTWARE UPDATE WAS DONE. STILL HAD STARTING ISSUES, AND RUNNING ISSUES. AFTER MORE CALLS TO CHRYSLER THEY NOW BELIEVE THE ISSUE IS A TIPM (TOTALLY INTEGRATED POWER MODULE). TIPM IS ON A NATIONAL BACK ORDER WITH NO KNOWN RELEASE/ EXPECTED AVAILABILITY DATE. CHRYSLER WILL WARRANTY THE TIPM PART. CAR NOW SITS AT THE DEALER FOR ALMOST 30 DAYS AND NO ONE HAS ANY ESTIMATE AS TO A FIX DATE. NOW WAITING ON A CASE MANAGER TO CONTACT ABOUT THIS ISSUE AND POSSIBLE RENTAL CAR AND REFUND FOR REPLACED PARTS. SENDING OFF PAPER WORK FOR LEMON LAW. CHRYSLER SHOULD ISSUE RECALL BUT OBVIOUSLY WILL NOT DUE TO LACK OF INVENTORY IN TIPM PARTS. *TR

MY 2011 DODGE DURANGO STALLED ONE DAY AT WORK WHEN I TRIED TO CRANK IT. IT TOOK 3 TIMES TO START THE ENGINE AND FINALLY IT CRANKED. LATER THAT WEEK WHILE DRIVING I NOTICE THE AIRBAG WARNING LIGHT CAME ON AND THEN WENT OFF MULTIPLE TIMES; IT CONTINUOUSLY DID THAT UNTIL ONE DAY IT STAYED ON AND NEVER WENT OFF. I TOOK IT TO GET IT CHECK AND NO CODES SHOWED. THEY STATED NOTHING WAS WRONG WITH IT. SO I KEPT DRIVING UNTIL I NOTICED A HUMMING NOISE COMING FROM UNDERNEATH THE REAR OF THE VEHICLE AND IT CONTINUOUSLY STALLED OR DIDN'T CRANK AND THAT'S WHEN I HAD TO HAVE MY HUSBAND JUMP IT OFF. THIS CONTINUED FOR A COUPLE OF WEEKS. I TOOK IT TO THE DEALERSHIP IN WHICH THE TOLD ME THE PCM MODULE WAS BAD BUT WHEN THEY TRIED TO PROGRAM IT, IT SHOWED THAT THE BATTERY WAS BAD SO I PURCHASED A NEW BATTERY. ONCE THEY COMPLETED IT THEY STATED THAT THEY STARTED THE DURANGO AND IT STARTED WITHOUT ANY ISSUE BUT WHEN MY HUSBAND AND I WENT TO PICK IT UP, IT STALLED AGAIN AND IT TOOK ABOUT 10 MINUTES TO GET IT STARTED. I DROVE IT FOR A FEW DAYS UNTIL ONE DAY I WENT TO THE STORE AND WHEN I CAME OUT OF THE STORE IT WOULD NOT START AT ALL SO I HAD TO GET IT TOWED TO THE DEALERSHIP, IT SAT THERE FOR ABOUT A WEEK UNTIL THEY FINALLY DIAGNOSED IT AS HAVING A BAD TIPM MODULE (TOTALLY INTEGRATED POWER MODULE).THE SERVICE REP AT THE DEALERSHIP STATED THAT THE TIPM MODULE IS ON BACKORDER (1352 AHEAD OF ME TO BE EXACT). THERE ARE LOTS OF REPORTS ON THE INTERNET ABOUT CHRYSLER VEHICLES HAVING A BAD TIPM. I THINK THERE SHOULD BE A RECALL ON IT. I PRESENTED MY CONCERNS TO CHRYSLERDODGE ABOUT THIS AND THE ONLY THING I GOT WAS AN APOLOGY. PLEASE, PLEASE INVESTIGATE. DODGE IS USING A BAD PRODUCT AND DON'T WANT TO OWN UP TO IT AND THE CUSTOMERS ARE THE ONES THAT HAVE TO PAY FOR IT. *JB
