MANUFACTURERS RECALL: MY VEHICLE MAKES A SERIOUS VIBRATION IN THE STEERING WHEEL AND A LOUD HUMMING NOISE WHEN I DRIVE DOWN THE ROAD. IT PULLS TO THE RIGHT TERRIBLY AND WEARS OOT MY TIRES CONSTANTLY. IT FISH TALES WHEN I ACCELERATE THE GAS PETAL AND ALSO WHEN I TAKE MY FOOT OFF OF THE GAS. IT WALKS THE ROAD. AND FEELS UNSTABLE WHEN U REACH 60MPH. IT FEELS VERY UNSAFE AND DOES IT'S OWN THING WHEN WE ARE DRIVING . IT JUST GOES ALL OVER THE ROAD .THE RESULTS ARE THE SAME WHETHER IT'S BEING DRIVEN IN THE CITY OR HIGHWAY. THIS IS A SAFETY COMPLAINT ON A 2005 JEEP LIBERTY COMPLAINT FOR THE 3 RECALLS. BALL JOINTS, TRAILER HITCH AND CONTROL ARMS. ON THIS DAY I BROUGHT MY VEHICLE TO TRANSITOWNE IN WILLIAMSVILLE, NY FOR THE RECALLS, I NEVER RECEIVED THE BALL JOINT RECALL PREVIOUSLY. MY VEHICLE WAS SAFE, NO NOISE, NO PROBLEMS AND WAS CURRENTLY IN MINT CONDITION MECHANICALLY AND OTHERWISE. I DROPPED IT OFF THURSDAY NIGHT 5/7/2015 TO BE WORKED ON 7/8/2015. THEY CALLED THE MORNING OF 7/8/2015 TO SAY THE VEHICLE WAS COMPLETE. AS I DROVE HOME THE WHEEL SHAKES AND FRONT END MAKES NOISE WHILE BRAKING AND SOUNDS LOOSE. I IMMEDIATELY RETURNED IT, THEY WERE RUDE AND AFTER MY OBVIOUS FRUSTRATION FINALLY DECIDED TO TAKE A TEST DRIVE. WHEN SAL, THE SERVICE COORDINATOR CAME BACK AND ACTUALLY ADMITTED (WITH A WITNESS) I WAS ONE IN A MILLION THAT RECEIVED BAD BALL JOINTS BUT THAT THEY DON'T HAVE ANY MORE I WOULD HAVE TO WAIT. I EXPLAINED WHEN BRAKING SOMETHING IS RUBBING, STEERING IS SHAKY AND MAKES A CLUNK NOISE FROM BALL JOINTS. THEY LET ME DRIVE AWAY WITH A VEHICLE THAT IS UNSAFE. LOOSE BALL JOINTS WITH ANY PLAY IN THEM CAN RESULT IN AN ACCIDENT. THEY OFFERED NO RENTAL, NO HELP AND IGNORE ME. I HAVE MY OWN BUSINESS (SOLE) AND CANNOT DRIVE IT, I DON'T TRUST IT AND IT CANNOT BE DRIVEN TO KAYAKING. MY ENTIRE WEEKEND WAS RUINED NOT TO MENTION I CANNOT DRIVE A NOISY, DANGEROUS VEHICLE. THEY DID NOT REPLACE THE TRAILER HITCH EVEN THOUGH IT'S 10 YEARS OLD (I PUT IT ON MYSELF) DID NOT COME WITH THE JEEP, AND IT'S WELDS ARE RUSTY AND BRITTLE, THEY DID NOT CARE ABOUT THAT EITHER. I FEEL LIKE NOBODY CARES ABOUT MY PROBLEM, IT CAN'T BE LEGAL FOR A DEALERSHIP TO SEND DRIVERS HOME WITH VEHICLES THAT HAVE LOOSE BALL JOINTS AND TELL THEM IT'S SAFE, THEY HAVE NO IDEA WHERE I GO AND DRIVE WITH MY VEHICLE, IT'S CONSTRUCTION SEASON AND ONE POTHOLE ON THE THRUWAY COULD KILL ME.

I WAS DRIVING ON HWY 620S APPROXIMATELY 65 MPH AND MY REAR END BEGAN JERKING FROM THE RIGHT TO THE LEFT AND I ALMOST ENDED UP IN THE DITCH AND I WAS VERY SCARED. RECALL L27 WAS ISSUED IN 2012 BUT JEEP WILL NOT HELP ME. I HAVE BEEN CALLING AND FOR MONTHS WITH THIS COMPLAINT AND PROBLEM I HAD BEEN HAVING BUT I WAS TOLD JEEP WOULD ONLY COVER JEEPS THAT RESIDED IN "SALT STATES". I'VE SPOKEN WITH SEVERAL CUSTOMER CARE REP'S WITH JEEP AND ON MAY2ND THAT THERE WAS ACTUALLY 3 STIPULATIONS TO THIS RECALL: 1. I NEEDED TO LIVE IN A SALT STATE 2. THE STATE WHERE MY JEEP WAS BUILT/MADE AT 3. WHAT YEAR MY JEEP WAS. I SPOKE WITH 2 REPRESENTATIVES THAT COULD NOT TELL ME WHAT STATE MY JEEP WAS BUILT/MADE IN WITH MY VIN #. I FOUND THIS STRANGE, THEY SHOULD KNOW THIS INFORMATION. THE 3RD PERSON [XXX] ON MAY 2, 2015 WAS ABLE TO INFORM ME MY JEEP WAS BUILT IN TOLDEO, OHIO AND I WAS REFERRED TO ANOTHER # [XXX]. [XXX] TOLD ME MY VIN# WAS NOT CONSIDERED A "NO OPEN RECALL". I'VE BEEN LAID OFF MY LAST 2 JOBS AND CAN'T AFFORD TO HAVE THIS REPAIRED. TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2004 JEEP LIBERTY. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 40 MPH, THE FRONT OF VEHICLE STARTED TO SHAKE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER, WHO ADVISED THAT THE SHOCKS NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED HOWEVER, THE FAILURE WAS RECURRING. MY COMPLAINT: MY VEHICLE HAS BEEN AT THE DEALERSHIP IN OPELIKA, AL FOR A MONTH WITH PROMISES OF THE PARTS COMING IN, BUT AS OF TODAY, 2/25/2014, ARE STILL NOT THERE. MY JEEP IS MAKING WINDING AND GRINDING NOISES. I THOUGHT THAT IT WAS THE BALL JOINTS WHICH CHRYSLER EVENTUALLY AGREED TO REPLACE SINCE IT IS CONSIDERED A REPEAT RECALL FOR THEM BUT THE NOISE, VIBRATION AND SHIMMY IN THE STEERING HAS PERSISTED AND THE SERVICE DEPT. AT THE DEALER INFORMED ME THAT I ALSO NEED CONTROL ARMS AND SWAY BAR LINKS. THE SERVICE REP TOLD ME THAT IT WAS NOT CONSIDERED TO BE NORMAL WEAR AND TEAR. I CONTACTED CHRYSLER AND THE PERSON ASSIGNED TO MY CASE TOLD ME HE WOULD GET BACK TO ME TO FOLLOW UP. DAYS LATER WHEN I FINALLY TRACKED HIM DOWN IN BETWEEN HIS BREAKS AND PHONE CALLS HE TOLD ME THAT THE DEALER TOLD HIM THAT IT WAS JUST NORMAL WEAR AND TEAR. I HAVEN'T TAKEN MY CAR OFF ROAD AND IT HASN'T BEEN IN THE SNOW OR ON SALTY ROADS. THE LAST TIME THAT I TRIED TO REACH HIM I WAS TOLD THAT HE DID NOT WORK ON WEDNESDAYS. STILL NO RESPONSE FROM CHRYSLER FROM ANYONE REGARDING WHETHER OR NOT ITS A SAFETY CONCERN THAT THEY WILL COVER OR ASSIST WITH. I UPDATED MY CASE WITH THE INFO THAT I WOULD ADD TO YOUR ONGOING INVESTIGATION IF I DID NOT RECEIVE AN UPDATE REGARDING ASSISTANCE FROM THEM. THE JEEP IS 5 YRS. OLD AND IS STILL MAKING A HORRIBLE NOISE ON THE FRONT DRIVER'S SIDE AND I CANNOT GET A RESPONSE OF ANY KIND FROM CHRYSLER. I HAVE A POWER TRAIN WARRANTY IN EFFECT UNTIL THE END OF NOVEMBER. PLEASE LET ME KNOW IF YOU CAN ASSIST WITH EXPEDITING THIS MATTER WITH CHRYSLER SINCE I DO NOT FEEL SAFE DRIVING THE JEEP IN THIS CONDITION. I CANNOT CONTROL MY VEHICLE WHILE DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY. THE STEERING COLUMN SEEMS TO BE VERY LOOSE AND THE JEEP SHIMMIES. IT SEEMS THAT WHEN YOU REACH MAYBE 50 MPH THE BACK END SEEMS TO PULL TO THE RIGHT WHILE YOU ARE TRYING TO DRIVE STRAIGHT. CAUSING ALOT OF SHAKING AND PULLING GOING ON. A VERY UNSTEADY RIDE. AND NOTICED WHEN TRYING TO STOP AT THE FAST PACE THE FRONT END WANTS TO GO TO THE LEFT WHILE THE BACK END WANTS TO GO TO THE RIGHT. VERY SCARY DRIVING CONDITIONS. TOOK IT TO THE JEEP DEALER LAST YEAR AND THEY TOLD ME THAT THERE WAS NOTHING WRONG WITH THE VEHICLE, THAT JEEPS HAVE ALOT OF PLAY IN THE STEERING. BUT WHEN I NOTICED THAT WHEN I GO OVER A BUMP A LOUD CLANKING NOISE HAPPENS I DECIDED TO LOOK ON LINE TO SEE WHAT THE PROBLEM COULD BE AND I SAW THAT THERE WAS A RECALL ON BALL JOINTS, SO I THOUGHT IT COULD BE THAT. I TOOK IT INTO THE DEALERSHIP YESTERDAY AND THEY TOLD ME THAT THERE WAS SOMETHING WRONG, DESCRIBED EXACTLY WHAT I WAS DEALING WITH AND TOLD ME THAT THEY WOULD FIND OUT. TO MY DISMAY, THEY SAID IT WAS MY REAR LOWE CONTROL ARMS THAT NEEDED TO BE REPLACED AND WOULD CHARGE ME OVER 600 TO FIX. NOW FINDING OUT THAT OTHERS ARE HAVING THE SAME ISSUE AND SOME HAVE RESULTED IN A WRECK. SOMETHING NEEDS TO BE DONE REGARDING THIS ISSUE BEFORE SOMEONE LOSES THEIR LIVES. *TR
