MY VEHICLE IS LESS THAN 1 YEAR OLD WITH ABOUT 11500 MILES. MY SERVICE EXAUST SYSTEM WARNING LIGHT ILLUMINATED AND PROVIDED A WARNING THAT MY SPEED WOULD BE REDUCED IN A SET AMOUNT OF MILES. AFTER ADDING ADDITIONAL DEF FLUID TO DETERMINE IF THAT WAS THE ISSUE MY CAR THE CAR RETURNED AN ERROR OF SERVICE DEF SYSTEM. THIS THEN LOWERED THE AMOUNT OF DRIVING MILEAGE UNTIL MY CAR WOULD BE FORCED TO A REDUCED SPEED. THIS OCCURRED WHILE OPERATING THE VEHICLE AND MAY HAVE RESULTED IN DAMAGE TO MY VEHICLE OR OTHER MOTORIST WHEN TRAVELING ON AN EXPRESSWAY. THE DEALER EXPLAINED THAT THEY HAD OTHER CARS IN FOR THE SAME ISSUE AND IT TOOK OVER A MONTH TO GET THE PARTS IN FOR REPAIR. ADDITIONALLY GM HAS PROVIDED NO GUIDANCE OR WARNING REGARDING THE ISSUE.

ON THURSDAY FEB 18TH IS WAS SNOWING WHEN I LEFT WORK, DROVE AROUND THE BELTWAY APPROXIMATELY 30 MILES GOING ON AVERAGE 30-40 MPH.NO ISSUES JUST BAD ROADS. RIGHT AFTER I LEFT THE HIGHWAY AND TURNED ON TO A MAIN ROAD, I WAS APPROXIMATELY 1 MILE ON THAT ROAD IN THE MIDDLE LANE DRIVING STRAIGHT AT ABOUT 25-30 MPH WHEN MY NEW 2021 SILVERADO (5000 MILES) LOSS POWER. THE BATTERY AND CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON WITH NO ENGINE POWER. AS THE VEHICLE WAS COASTING ATTEMPTED TO GET OFF THE MAIN ROAD, BUT DIDN'T MAKE IT DUE TO THE SNOW COVERED ROADS AND SLUSH. ENDED UP IN A MERGE LANE STILL IN TRAFFIC AND WAS ALMOST HIT NUMEROUS TIMES. TRIED TO RESTART AND GET TO A SAFE LOCATION, BUT WHEN PUSHING THE START BUTTON THE SILVERADO WOULD CRANK EXTREMELY LONG PERIOD OF TIME AND THEN FINAL CUTOUT. WAS ON THE PHONE WITH ON STAR WHERE THEY PUT ME IN CONTACT WITH THE LOCAL POLICE DEPARTMENT WHO NEVER SHOWED AND THEN LEFT ME A MESSAGE THEY WERE COMING OUT DUE TO THE INCLEMENT WEATHER. THANKS. AFTER TALKING WITH POLICE DISPATCH ON STAR SETUP A TOW TRUCK, BUT GAVE THEM THE WRONG ADDRESS WHICH WAS MORE THAN AN HOUR AWAY FROM MY LOCATION. ONCE BACK ON THE PHONE ON STAR STATED THEY HAD TO CALL THE SAME TOW TRUCK DRIVER/COMPANY WHICH OF COURSE HE WAS OVER AN HOUR AWAY. ONCE THE TOW TRUCK DRIVER ARRIVED 3 HOURS AFTER MY TRUCK BROKE DOWN HE SAID HE WAS ORIGINALLY ONLY 10 MINUTES FROM MY LOCATION PRIOR TO ON STAR SENDING HIM TO THE WRONG LOCATION. WHAT A MESS. HAVE A LOANER CAR BECAUSE I HAVE BEEN TOLD A FUEL PUMP IS ON NATIONAL BACKORDER. ALSO THAT THEY WILL BE REPLACING THE VALVE SPRINGS WHICH IS ANOTHER ISSUE I THINK? HOPING TO KNOW MORE THIS WEEK.

WHILE DRIVING DURING WINTER CONDITIONS WITH TEMPERATURE AT 3 DEGREES ON A RESIDENTIAL STREET WITH LIMITED TRAFFIC, THE DIESEL FUEL IN THE FUEL FILTER GELLED UP WHICH CAUSED THE VEHICLE TO DISPLAY REDUCE POWER MODE AND THEN IMMEDIATELY SHUT OFF AND WOULD NOT START. THE VEHICLE COASTED TO A STOP IN THE MIDDLE OF THE STREET WHILE IN TRAFFIC. THE OWNERS MANUAL LISTS UTILIZING TOP TIER DIESEL WHICH I DID. WHILE ADDITIVES ARE NOT NORMALLY NEEDED IN MOST STATES TO FUEL FOR FREEZING CONDITIONS EVIDENTLY THEY ARE NEEDED IN OKLAHOMA. THE FUEL FILTER HOUSING IS THE ONLY PLACE WHERE THE FUEL GELLED UP, WHICH APPEARS TO BE A THEME IN MOST GMC DIESEL TRUCKS AND DOES NOT EFFECT FUEL IN THE FUEL TANK DUE TO VOLUME. GMC HAS DONE NOTHING TO IMPROVE THE DESIGN OR INCREASE INSULATION TO THE THIN FUEL FILTER HOUSING. IF I HAD BEEN IN FAST TRAFFIC ON THE INTERSTATE IT WOULD HAVE RESULTED IN AN ACCIDENT AND POSSIBLE LOSS OF LIFE.

THREE DAYS AFTER PURCHASING MY 2020 CHEVY 2500 SILVERADO, ON SEPTEMBER 28TH, 2020 AROUND 1253 I TRIED TO START MY TRUCK AND IT WOULDN'T START. THE TRUCK TURNED OVER BUT SEEMED LIKE IT WASN'T GETTING FUEL. I THEN RECEIVED A DIAGNOSTIC ALERT. AFTER CHANGING THE RELAY THE TRUCK RAN FINE. I THEN SCHEDULED TO TAKE IT IN TO THE DEALER ON OCTOBER 5,2020 TO HAVE A DIAGNOSTIC DONE ON THE TRUCK AND THEY FOUND NOTHING. THE VERY NEXT DAY IT DID THE SAME THING ON OCTOBER 6TH, 2020. I THEN SCHEDULED TO HAVE IT TAKEN IN AGAIN AND FOUND OUT THAT THE FUEL CONTROL MODULE ON SEVERAL OTHER GM VEHICLES WHERE FAULTY ON NEW VEHICLES. I HAD TO CANCEL MY SECOND APPOINTMENT DUE TO THE DEALER WOULDN'T PROVIDE ME WITH A LOANER CAR WHILE THEY WORKED ON MY TRUCK. THIS VEHICLE IS UNDER WARRANTY. THEN AGAIN ON THE OCTOBER 20TH, 2020 THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT START. AFTER CHANGING OUT THE RELAY SWITCH IT SEEMED TO RESET THE SYSTEM AND STARTS AND RUNS FINE AND THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT GOES OFF. I WORK IN EMERGENCY SERVICES AND NEED MY TRUCK TO RUN WHEN I TURN THE KEY OVER. THERE'S NO COMMON FACTOR LEADING TO THIS LACK OF TURNING OVER. AND MY DEALER IS NOT WORKING WITH ME TO COME TO A SOLUTION TO THIS PROBLEM. THIS HAS HAPPENED ON 3 OCCASIONS AT RANDOM TIMES.

I WAS STOPPED N THE DRIVE THRU AT IN-N-OUT WITH MY FOOT ON THE BRAKE AND THE ECO SYSTEM HAD TURNED OFF THE MOTOR. IT SPONTANEOUSLY TURNED BACK ON WITHOUT ME LIFTING MY FOOT OFF OF THE BRAKE AND THE TRANSMISSION ENGAGED AND THE TRUCK LAUNCHED FORWARD APPROXIMATELY 12-18 INCHES. THIS IS THE SECOND TIME THIS HAS HAPPENED TO ME. IT ALSO HAPPENED ONE NIGHT ABOUT 2 MONTHS AGO. THIS COULD HAVE BEEN VERY DANGEROUS, I COULD HAVE HIT SOMEONE OR THEIR CAR OR I COULD HAVE EVEN RECEIVED WHIPLASH MYSELF. *TR

USUALLY, THE GAS NOZZLE AUTOMATICALLY TURNS OFF THE GAS WHEN THE TANK IS FULL. WHILE WAITING FOR THIS TO HAPPEN, HAND ON NOZZLE HOLDING IT OPEN, THE GAS OVERFILLED, GUSHED OUT OF THE FILL TUBE, AND OUT FROM UNDER THE TRUCK. A BIG PUDDLE OF GAS ON THE GROUND. I THOUGHT THE NOZZLE SHUTOFF MALFUNCTIONED. I WENT TO FILL MY TRUCK AGAIN ON 5/5. I PUT THE NOZZLE INTO THE FILL TUBE AND SQUEEZED THE HANDLE. GAS GUSHED OUT OF THE FILL TUBE RIGHT AWAY, OUT FROM UNDER THE TRUCK AND CREATING ANOTHER LARGE PUDDLE OF GAS ON THE CONCRETE. I HAD A SIMILAR, NO CAP, FILLING TUBE ON MY 2013 F-150 AND NEVER HAD THIS PROBLEM IN 7 YEARS. SO I CALLED MY DEALER TO REPORT THIS AND SEE IF OTHERS HAVE HAD THE SAME PROBLEM. I WAS TOLD THERE IS A SECOND VALVE IN THE FILL TUBE AND I NEED TO INSERT THE NOZZLE ALL THE WAY INTO THE SPRING. I HAVEN'T HAD A CHANCE TO SEE IF THIS CORRECTS THE PROBLEM. HOWEVER, MANY TIMES WHEN I HAVE TRIED TO FILL VARIOUS VEHICLES THAT I HAVE OWNED, SOMETIMES I HAVE TO PULL THE NOZZLE SLIGHTLY OUT TO KEEP THE AUTOMATIC TURN OFF FROM COMING ON SO I CAN FILL THE TANK. I NEVER TOP OFF, ADD MORE GAS AFTER THE AUTOMATIC SWITCH TURNS THE PUMP OFF. I THINK THIS IS A POOR DESIGN OR SOMETHING WRONG WITH MY FILL TUBE. I'M SURE OTHERS WILL BE DOING THE SAME THING I DID AND RAW GAS ALL OVER THE GROUND AND VEHICLE ISN'T VERY SAFE. BOTH TIMES VEHICLE WAS STATIONARY AND ENGINE OFF AT THE FILLING STATION. I WILL TAKE PICTURES IF THIS HAPPENS AGAIN. *TR
