DRIVING VEHICLE ABOUT 2 MPH, TAKING A RIGHT TURN - VEHICLE STALLED OUT AND EMERGENCY BRAKE LIGHT CAME ON. WAS ABLE TO RESTART PTS IGNITION WITHOUT ISSUE, THEN DRIVE AGAIN. TRUCK HAS 600+ MILES CURRENT. FOUND OTHER RAM OWNERS ON 5THGENRAMS.COM FORUMS STATING THEY ARE EXPERIENCING SAME ISSUE, SO I AM CONCERNED. THIS HAPPENED ONCE, BUT OTHERS ARE SAYING IT HAS HAPPENED MULTIPLE TIMES TO THEM.

BRAKING SYSTEM FAILURE AT ABOUT 45MPH ON HIGHWAY 78 IN LOGANVILLE, GA APPROACHING AN INTERSECTION WITH RED LIGHT, VEHICLE SEEMED TO LOOSE ALL POWER BRAKING. I STOOD WITH ALL I COULD ON THE PEDAL, AND TURNED TO AVOID REAR ENDING STOPPED VEHICLES, RUNNING INTO MIDDLE OF THE INTERSECTION BEFORE IT STOPPED; NO ACCIDENT ! DEALER IS REPLACING MASTER CYLINDER AND BOOSTER BRAKING SYSTEM, ALONG WITH COMPUTER SYSTEM UPGRADE. MY CONCERN IS THE DEALERSHIP AND NHTSA IS AWARE OF THIS ISSUE, YET NO CEASE AND DESIST DRIVING DIRECTIVE HAS BEEN ISSUED ! I WAS DRIVING ON I-15 BETWEEN CEDAR CITY, UT AND ST GEORGE, UT. DRIVING APPROX 75MPH WHEN SUDDENLY TRAFFIC WAS STOPPED IN FRONT OF ME IN BOTH LANES. APPLIED BRAKES WITH ABSOLUTELY NO RESULTS. DROVE OFF OF PAVED PORTION OF HIGHWAY TO AVOID HITTING STOPPED CARS. VEHICLE HAD LESS THAN 500 MILES ON IT AND I HAD OWNED IT FOR 3 DAYS. FINALLY GOT VEHICLE STOPPED APPROX 3/4 MILE DOWN THE ROAD. APPROX $1700 DAMAGE TO VEHICLE. APPROX 5 MONTHS LATER I PULLED INTO U.S POST OFFICE TO PARK. BRAKES AGAIN FAILED AND I HIT BRICK BUILDING AT APPROX 5MPH OR LESS. APPROX $5000 DAMAGE TO VEHICLE AND UNCERTAIN OF DOLLAR DAMAGE TO P.O. BUILDING. THREE DAYS LATER I PULLED INTO MA PARKING LOT, BRAKES FAILED AGAIN. I WAS ABLE TO AVOID ANY PARKED CARS, MAINLY BECAUSE PARKING LOT WAS ALMOST EMPTY. I WAS ABLE TO USE EMERGENCY BRAKE TO STOP IT. THE FOLLOWING MONDAY I TOOK IT TO STEPHEN WADE DEALERSHIP. THEY HAD IT FOR 5 DAYS, CHECKED FOR CODES, DROVE IT APPROX 8 MILES AND TOLD ME TO COME GET IT. THEY COULD FIND NOTHING. FACTORY CUSTOMER CARE TOLD ME TO TAKE IT BACK TO DEALERSHIP. CALLED FOR APPT AND WAS INFORMED THAT DUE TO SAFETY PROBLEM AND ACCIDENT, THEY WOULD NOT TOUCH IT. CALLED RAM CUSTOMER CARE BACK, TOLD THEM DEALERSHIP REFUSED TO LOOK AT IT. CUSTOMER CARE SAID TO TAKE TO ANOTHER DEALERSHIP. NEXT CLOSEST DEALERSHIP IS OVER 120 MILES AWAY. THEY SAID DEALERSHIP HAS RIGHT TO REFUSE TO WORK ON IT AND THEN TOLD ME THAT RAM FACTORY TECH GAVE ORDERS NOT TO TOUCH IT. NOW I HAVE A RAM TRUCK WITH BRAKE PROBLEMS THAT NEITHER LOCAL DEALERSHIP OR FACTORY TECH WILL ACCEPT TO WORK ON. I HAVE A $70,000 MSRP, 5,400 LB "PAPER WEIGHT". NO HELP FROM FACTORY. TRUCK DOES NOT HAVE 4,000 MILES AND APPARENTLY THE FACTORY WARRANTY IS WORTHLESS. SEE ALSO 11402784

TOOK DELIVERY OF VEHICLE ON FRIDAY, JANUARY 29TH, 2021. WHILE DRIVING HOME FROM PLYMOUTH, MA TO CONCORD, NH, I WAS USING THE ADAPTIVE CRUISE CONTROL. I WAS TRAVELING BETWEEN 65MPH AND 70MPH. ROADS WERE COMPLETELY DRY, THERE WERE NO OTHER CARS NEAR ME, AND THERE WERE NO OBSTACLES IN FRONT OF ME. I WAS TRAVELING IN THE MIDDLE LANE OF A THREE LANE HIGHWAY. OUT OF NOWHERE, THE BRAKES WERE FORCEFULLY APPLIED BY THE COMPUTER WHICH NEARLY BROUGHT THE VEHICLE TO A STOP IN THE MIDDLE OF THE INTERSTATE. AFTER REACHING MY DESTINATION I NOTICED THAT THE CAMERA IN THE DRIVER SIDE MIRROR WAS NOT FUNCTIONING. CONTACTED DEALER THE FOLLOWING DAY AND RETURNED BACK TO DEALERSHIP TO HAVE THE VEHICLE REPAIRED (NEARLY 2 HOUR DRIVE). DEALER STATED THAT THE ISSUE WITH THE CAMERA AND THE ISSUE WITH THE AUTOMATIC BRAKING WERE RELATED. PICKED VEHICLE UP ON FEBRUARY 8TH AFTER VEHICLE WAS SUPPOSEDLY FIXED. ARRIVED HOME AND DISCOVERED SAME ISSUE WITH CAMERA NOT FUNCTIONING. TOOK TO DEALER IN CONCORD, NH TO TRY TO REPAIR AGAIN ON 2/15/21 AND PICKED UP ON SAME DAY. DEALER FOUND LOOSE PIN IN CONNECTOR. DEALER STATED THAT THE CAMERA HAD BEEN REPLACED IN OCTOBER 2020 BEFORE I EVEN OWNED THE VEHICLE, SO SOMEONE KNEW THIS WAS AN ISSUE. TOOK VEHICLE ON A DRIVE ON 2/17/21. ALERT ON DASH NOW SAYS 'SERVICE DRIVER ASSIST SYSTEM.' I DO NOT FEEL SAFE DRIVING THIS VEHICLE AND MY WIFE DOES NOT FEEL COMFORTABLE DRIVING IT OR LETTING OUR TWIN 3 YEAR OLD BOYS RIDE IN IT. I HAVE A CASE OPEN WITH GENERAL MOTORS ON THIS BUT THEY HAVE DECLINED TO HELP WITH EXCHANGING THE VEHICLE. I'M THANKFUL THAT NOBODY WAS RIDING WITH ME AND THAT NO CARS WERE AROUND AND THAT IT WAS NOT SLICK WHEN THE BRAKING INCIDENT OCCURRED BECAUSE IT CERTAINLY WOULD HAVE CAUSED AN ACCIDENT. I'M HAVING A SEVERE PROBLEMS WITH THE EXTREMELY LARGE SIDE MIRRORS CAUSING A BLIND SPOT WITH CROSSING TRAFFIC. I BELIEVE I'M A VERY CAREFUL DRIVER TO AVOID ACCIDENTS, SO A COUPLE DAYS AFTER PURCHASING THE VEHICLE, I CAME TO AN INTERSECTION AND STOPPED TO MAKE SURE THERE WAS NO CROSSING TRAFFIC BEFORE DRIVING THROUGH. AS I BEGAN TO GO THROUGH THE INTERSECTION, I NEARLY PULLED OUT IN FRONT OF A CROSSING VEHICLE, A VEHICLE THAT WAS NO WHERE IN VIEW WHEN I STARTED TO GO THROUGH THE INTERSECTION. I WAS THINKING TO MYSELF WHERE DID THAT VEHICLE COME FROM? A FEW DAYS LATER I NEARLY DID THE SAME THING AGAIN, AND I REALIZED I WASN'T DOING ANYTHING WRONG, THAT IT WAS THAT HUGE SIDE MIRROR CREATING SUCH A HUGE BLOND SPOT THAT WHEN THE CROSSING VEHICLE IS AT A CERTAIN POINT THE MIRROR TOTALLY BLOCKS THE VIEW OF THAT VEHICLE. I AM REALLY WORRIED ABOUT HAVING AN ACCIDENT BECAUSE OF THIS LARGE MIRROR. I'M CONSIDERING GOING BACK TO THE DEALERSHIP TO SEE IF THE TRUCK CAN BE FITTED WITH A SMALLER MIRROR, BUT THERE IS PROBABLY A HUGE COST TO THE CUSTOMER. THERE MUST BE THOUSANDS OF PEOPLE WITH THIS TRUCK HAVING THE SAME PROBLEM. I DON'T THINK THAT I HAVE EVER COMPLAINED TO THENHTSA , BUT THIS IS VERY DANGEROUS AND I'M WORRIED.
