I BOUGHT A VEHICLE 3 DAYS AGO. I COMPLAINED ABOUT THE TIRES SOUNDING LIKE IT WAS WOBBLING. I TOLD THE OWNER AND OTHER EMPLOYEES THAT IT SOUNDED LIKE SOMETHING WAS WRONG. THEY SAID THAT THEY DID NOT HEAR IT BUT HAD THE TIRES BALANCED AND THE ROTORS TURNED. I RAN MY KIDS TO BASKETBALL PRACTICE AND LATER ON THAT NIGHT THE TIRE SOUNDS GOT WORSE AND WE'RE MUCH LOUDER. I WAS DRIVING HOME AND JUST TURNED INTO MY NEIGHBORHOOD AND MY FRONT DRIVER SIDE TIRE FLEW OFF. THE TIRE AND RIM WE'RE TRAVELING THROUGH A YARD AT 30+ MPH. I SLAMMED TO THE GROUND AND STOPPED THE VEHICLE. IT WAS TERRIFIYNG. THE FLYING TIRE AND RIM WOULD HAVE FATALLY INJURED SOMEONE IF THIS WAS IN THE DAYTIME HOURS.

LOW TIRE PRESSURE ALARM INITIATED AT INTERSTATE HIGHWAY SPEED, ROUGHLY 70MPH STRAIGHT LINE TRAVEL. PULLED OVER AND DISCOVERED THE METAL VALVE STEM HAD CRACKED JUST BELOW THE PLASTIC CAP AND HAD LEAKED ABOUT 6-8PSI OUT OF 36. CONTACT WITH THE TIP CAUSED IT TO CRACK OFF COMPLETELY CAUSING RAPID DEFLATION OF THE DRIVERS SIDE REAR TIRE. WOULD HAVE CAUSED SIGNIFICANT DAMAGE POSSIBLE ACCIDENT IF VEHICLE HAD STILL BEEN MOVING OR IF RESPONSE TO TIRE PRESSURE WARNING WAS DELAYED. HIGH HAZARD FAILURE. THIS IS THE SECOND VALVE STEM FAILURE FOR THIS VEHICLE, BUT THE FIRST WAS A CORROSION LEAK AROUND THE BASE WHICH WAS MUCH SLOWER.

ON TWO SEPARATE DATES THIS SUMMER WHILE TRAVELING AT SPEEDS BETWEEN 50 & 60 MPH I HAD TIRE PRESSURE SENSORS BRAKE CAUSING THE TIRES TO GO FLAT. FORTUNATELY I WAS ABLE TO BRING THE CAR TO A SAFE STOP BUT IN BOTH CASES I HAD TO PURCHASE NEW TIRES BECAUSE THE TIRES WHICH WERE RELATIVELY NEW COULD NO LONGER BE USED. I AM MOST CONCERNED ABOUT THE SAFETY ISSUE AS I WAS TOLD BY THE TIRE DEALER THAT TPS FAILURE IS QUITE COMMON. NOT ONLY COULD THE TIRE GOING FLAT CAUSE AN ACCIDENT BUT ON ONE OF THE FAILURES I WAS PUT IN A VERY DANGEROUS POSITION TO CHANGE THE TIRE.

I HAVE HAD 2 FLAT TIRES FROM THE TIRE PRESSURE SENSOR, DUE TO CRACKED AND SPLIT COLLARS THAT HAVE DETERIORATED. THE COLLAR WAS MISSING AND CHRYSLER DENIED ANY PROBLEMS. I HAVE REPLACED ALL 4 SENSORS AND HAVE RETAINED 3 OF THEM.. THE COLLARS COULD NOT BE SAVED AS THEY DETERIORATED UPON REMOVAL. THE REMAINING TWO WERE REPLACED TODAY AS THE COLLARS WERE SPLITTING AND SOON WOULD BREAK OFF AND POSSIBLE CAUSE AN ACCIDENT. THE TWO FLATS OCCURRED IN MY DRIVEWAY, AND I DROVE TO HAVE THE LAST TWO REPLACED.

GRINDING COMING FROM REAR WHEELS. ATTEMPTED TO REMOVE WHEEL ON PASSENGER SIDE 1 LUG NUT BROKE. DEALERSHIP CLAIMED TO ATTEMPTED TO REMOVE BY DRILLING IT OUT, BUT CLAIMED COULDN'T BECAUSE HEAT HAD BEEN APPLIED. I NEVER TOOK IT ANYWHERE NOR APPLIED HEAT. TOOK IT SOME WHERE TO HAVE TAKEN OFF. TURNS OUT I HAD TO REPLACED REAR BRAKE PADS AND ROTORS. FUNNY HOW THERES A HUB ISSUE ON SOME TOWN AND COUNTRY BUT NOT MINE. THEY DIDN'T THINK THE LUG NUT WAS A DEFECT. I'VE NEVER SEEN ONE BREAK WHERE THE COVER OF THE LUG NOT TEARS OFF. THEN THE SIDES OF THE LUG BREAK OFF LEAVING THE BASE OF THE LUG. AFTER DRIVING THE VAN PRIOR TO REPLACEMENT OF PARTS YOU COULD FEEL THE HEAT COMING OFF OF THE WHEELS. POSSIBLY, COULD THAT HAVE BEEN THE HEAT THAT CAUSED THE LUG NOT TO BE ABLE TO HAVE BEEN DRILLED OUT LIKE THE DEALERSHIP ATTEMPTED. AFTER SEVERAL SEARCHES OF THE INTERNET I HAVE SEEN THAT I AM NOT THE ONLY ONE UNHAPPY WITH ALL OF THE OTHER ISSUES WITH THIS CHRYSLER PRODUCT OR THE DEALERSHIPS SELLING THEM.

WHILE BEGINNING TO DRIVE THE CAR DISPLAY LIGHT OF THE DASH BOARD WILL SHOW A SLIPPERY SIGN AND THE STEERING WILL LOCK UP AND ENGINE TURNS OFF. YOU CAN NOT STEER THE CAR - YOU HAVE TO BRAKE, PLACE IN PARK AND START THE ENGINE BACK UP. THIS HAPPENS TWICE OR SO A WEEK. HAPPENS ALSO WHEN GOING OVER A BUMP AND IN DRY CONDITIONS(MEANING IT'S NOT WET WHEN LIGHT IS DISPLAYED SLIPPERY). - ALREADY HAD THE RECALL L25 DONE IN AUGUST 2011. THIS IS A HUGE PROBLEM FOR CRASHING THE CAR (SINCE YOU CAN NOT STEER)! ALREADY CAUSED AN ACCIDENT FOR ME IN WET PAVEMENT(02/2014). *TR

I HAVE A PROBLEM WITH THE TIRE PRESSURE MONITOR SENSORS, (A FEDERAL MANDATED SAFETY DEVISE). MY 2010 CHRYSLER TOWN & COUNTRY ONLY HAS 13,930 MILES AND WHILE DRIVING THE LEFT FRONT TPMS CAME APART AND RELEASED THE AIR OUT OF THE TIRE. I KNEW THE TIRE WAS GOING FLAT BEFORE THE DASH LIGHTS REFLECTED A PROBLEM. AFTER CALLING FOR ROAD SIDE SERVICE, I WAS INFORMED THIS IS A CURRENT PROBLEM AS THE MATERIAL USED IS DIE-CAST (POT METAL) WHICH IS VERY CORROSIVE TO THE ELEMENTS. I CONTACTED THE CHRYSLER DEALER AND WAS TOLD IT WOULD COST ME $74.00 FOR THE SENSOR AND $20.00 LABOR TO FIX IT. UPON FURTHER INVESTIGATION THE OTHER 3 ON THE CAR ARE VERY CORRODED AND SPLIT. THIS WOULD COST APPROXIMATELY $400.00 TO REPLACE ALL OF THEM AND THEY ARE GOING TO REPLACE THEM WITH THE SAME INFERIOR COMPONENT THAT JUST FAILED IN 3 YEARS TIME AND 13,930 MILES. I CAN NOT BELIEVE THAT THEY ARE FAILING IN THIS SHORT OF TIME AND HAS NOT HAD A RECALL. HOW CAN A CAR MANUFACTURE MEET SUCH A SAFETY MANDATE WITH SUCH A DEFECTIVE PART. WHAT ABOUT THE AIR BAGS? ARE THEY JUST AS CHEAP, ARE THEY GOING TO WORK WHEN YOU NEED THEM? LOW PRESSURE ON TIRES CAN CAUSE "LOSS OF CONTROL" AND "ACCIDENTS" AS STATED BY THE NATIONAL HIGHWAY TRAFFIC SAFETY ADMINISTRATION. I CAN NOT EVEN FIND A CERTIFIED THIRD PARTY TIRE REPAIR SHOP THAT WILL FIX THE FLAT TIRE BECAUSE IF THEY FIX IT THE SAFE WAY BY USING THE TRUSTED RUBBER STEM IT VIOLATES THE FEDERAL MANDATED SAFETY DEVISE, WHICH IS ILLEGAL AND THEY DO NOT WANT THE LIABILITY. THEY EVEN REFUSE TO FIX THE FLAT WITH CHRYSLERS INFERIOR PART. DO PEOPLE NEED TO DIE BEFORE ANYONE UNDERSTANDS HOW DANGEROUS THIS COULD BE AT 55 TO 70 MILE PER HOUR AND HAVE THE AIR RUSH OUT WITHIN A FEW SECONDS? IT SHOULD BE A CRIME TO ALLOW A CAR MANUFACTURE TO USE A INFERIOR PRODUCT JUST TO SAY THEY MET A FEDERAL MANDATED SAFETY DEVISE. *TR
