FIRST THE JEEP COULD NOT MOVE WHEN WE TURN ON THE ENGINE IS ON, WE TOOK IT TO THE DEALER AND THEY FIXED THAT PROBLEM SAYING IT NEEDED A BATTERY. WE LET THEM PUT THE BATTERY IN AND TOOK IT HOME, NEXT WE GET IN THE CAR TO GO SOMEWHERE, TURN ON THE IGNITION, AND A WARNING MESSAGE APPEARED ON THE DASH BOARD SAYING LOW BEAM HEAD LIGHT OUT WE CHECKED THE LIGHTS ON THE JEEP AND THEY DID NOT COME ON, THE HIGH BEAM OR THE LOW BEAM. THIS SOUNDS LIKE AN ELECTRICAL PROBLEM TO ME AND THAT IS WHY I THINK IT SHOULD BE A RECALLED VEHICLES, ALSO, THIS CAR IS LIKE NEW BECAUSE WE HAVE NOT BEEN ABLE TO DRIVE IT MUCH BECAUSE OF THE PROBLEMS WE HAVE HAD FROM IT. WHEN A CAR IS RUNNING AND CANNOT MOVE WE KNOW THAT IS A TRANSMISSION PROBLEM, NOW THIS! PLEASE HELP US NOW!

HARD SHIFT BETWEEN 2ND AND 3RD AND 3RD AND 4TH GEARS WHILE MOVING ON HIGHWAY AND CITY STREETS.

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 JEEP CHEROKEE. WHILE DRIVING 65 MPH IN THE RAIN, THE WINDSHIELD WIPER MOTOR FAILED AND THE EXTERIOR AND INTERIOR LIGHTING SHUT OFF. THE CONTACT COASTED THE VEHICLE TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD. ONCE THE VEHICLE WAS RESTARTED, THE LIGHTS TURNED BACK ON AND THE VEHICLE OPERATED NORMALLY. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO BEMIDJI CHRYSLER CENTER (LOCATED AT 755 PAUL BUNYAN DR NW, BEMIDJI, MN 56601, (218) 751-8006) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED, BUT A FAILURE COULD NOT BE FOUND. IN ADDITION, WHILE DRIVING 35 MPH, THE STEERING WHEEL SEIZED AND THE BRAKE PEDAL FAILED TO STOP THE VEHICLE WHEN IT WAS DEPRESSED. AS A RESULT, THE CONTACT CRASHED INTO A FENCE. THERE WERE NO INJURIES. A POLICE REPORT WAS NOT FILED. THE DEALER WAS NOT NOTIFIED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE AND DID NOT ASSIST. THE VEHICLE WAS ABLE TO BE DRIVEN FROM THE SCENE AND WAS NOT DIAGNOSED FOR THE BRAKE AND STEERING FAILURES. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 37,000.

ON JULY 18, 2018 I WENT OUTSIDE TO GET AN ITEM OUT OF BACK OF MY VEHICLE WHICH WAS STATIONARY AND I COULDN'T GET LIFTGATE TO LIFT AND I NOTICED THERE WAS SMOKE IN MY CAR, I OPENED THE DRIVERS SIDE DOOR AND SMOKE BILLOWED OUT. AFTER A FEW MINUTES, I GOT IN THE VEHICLE AND MOVED IT BACK AWAY FROM MY HOUSE AND NOTICED I HAD NO A/C, RADIO OR ANYTHING WORKING ON DASHBOARD. I LOOKED IN BACK OF VEHICLE AND IT WAS BURNT IN THE BACK LEFT CORNER OF LIFT GATE. I IMMEDIATELY CALLED MY INSURANCE COMPANY AND THEY HAD IT TOWED TO MIKE SMITH AUTO GROUP IN BEAUMONT. THE SMELL IN THE VEHICLE WAS AWFUL, A COMBINATION OF BURNT RUBBER AND PLASTIC. THERE WAS A RECALL ON THIS VEHICLE FOR BACK LEFT LIFTGATE IN 2015 OF WHICH I TOOK IT IN AND SUPPOSEDLY IT WAS REPAIRED. I ALSO IMMEDIATELY CALLED THE DEALERSHIP OF WHICH THEY WERE NO HELP AT ALL AND VERY UNCONCERNED. I TALKED TO MY INSURANCE COMPANY AND THEY SAID IF IT WAS DUE TO A RECALL I SHOULD CALL CHRYSLER CORPORATION OF WHICH I DID DAILY WITH NO RESULTS. THEY WOULD NOT LET ME TALK TO ANYONE, THEY FINALLY SENT AN INSPECTOR OF WHICH HE JUST LOOKED AT THE INSIDE OF CAR, DID NOT TAKE THE PANELS OFF OR ANYTHING AND SENT TO THE CORPORATION AND THEY SENT ME A LETTER STATING IT WAS NOT DUE TO RECALL. MY INSURANCE COMPANY SENT AN ENGINEER WHO TOOK THE PANEL OFF AND SEARCHED IT THOROUGHLY AND DETERMINED IT WAS DUE TO THE RECALL. I CANNOT GET ANY HELP ON THIS WHICH IS NOT MY FAULT. *BF *TR *TT*JB

SEVERAL TIMES WHILE I WAS DRIVING THE DIGITAL DASH DISPLAY WENT BLANK, RED "BATTERY" INDICATOR CAME ON, "NO BUS" FAULT MESSAGE APPEARED, THE HEADLIGHTS WENT OFF, THE TURN SIGNAL DID NOT WORK, RADIO DID NOT WORK, DOOR LOCKS WOULD NOT WORK (LOCK/UNLOCK). THE SAFETY ISSUE IS TO LOSE FUNCTION OF HEADLIGHTS AND TURN SIGNAL WHILE DRIVING. ALSO IF A CRASH WERE TO OCCUR, I MAY NOT BE ABLE TO EXIT MY VEHICLE IN AN EMERGENCY, DUE TO NOT BEING ABLE TO UNLOCK MY DOORS. BETWEEN AUGUST 27, 2015 AND SEPTEMBER 14, 2015 THIS OCCURRED FOUR (4) SEPARATE TIMES. THE VEHICLE WAS TURNED IN FOR SERVICE EACH TIME THIS OCCURRED. THE PROBLEM IS INTERMITTENT, DURING DRIVING IT CAN COME AND GO. SERVICE DEPARTMENT AT AUTHORIZED JEEP DEALER STATED THAT THEY DO NOT HAVE ANY INSTRUMENTATION TO TROUBLESHOOT CAN BUS AND THEY CAN NOT DUPLICATE THE ISSUE. I WOULD PULL OVER INTO A SAFE AREA AND TAKE PHOTOS OF THE DASH SHOWING THE FAULTS. SERVICE DEPARTMENT CAN ONLY RESET FAULTS AS DISPLAYED ON A TABLET WHEN PLUGGED INTO THE VEHICLE. AGAIN DEALER HAS NO TOOLS TO LOOK UP BUS PROBLEMS, ELECTRICAL CONTACT ISSUE, ETC.

PURCHASED 2014 CHEROKEE IN AUG 2014 - MY 4TH JEEP AND OTHER FAMILY MEMBERS DRIVE JEEPS. FEW DAYS LATER DROVE AT NIGHT- IMMEDIATELY EVIDENT HEADLIGHTS POSE SERIOUS SAFETY CONCERN & DESIGN FLAW. CONTACTED THE DEALERSHIP TO HAVE THE LIGHTS INSPECTED. CANNOT SEE OBJECTS UNTIL YOU ARE UPON THEM. LIVE IN A RURAL AREA WITH NO STREET LIGHTS/BEAM DOES NOT PROJECT SUFFICIENT LIGHT/BRIGHTNESS. ADD RAIN, SNOW, OR CITY LIGHTS &THE GLARE MAKES SAFELY OPERATING THE VEHICLE EVEN MORE CHALLENGING.VEHICLE SERVICED MULTIPLE TIMES FOR THIS SERIOUS SAFETY CONCERN. MULTIPLE TECHS STATED HEADLIGHTS "ARE DIM" & OTHER OWNERS HAVE COMPLAINED. AFTER NUMEROUS COMPLAINTS, MY FRUSTRATION & CONCERN MOUNTED. TECHNICIAN SYMPATHIZED & SUGGESTED I CONTACT JEEP, "MAYBE THEY WILL LISTEN TO THE CUSTOMER". DEC 2014, CONTACTED JEEP & WAS INSTRUCTED A "RESEARCH PROJECT" WAS ESTABLISHED. AFTER WEEKS, (ANOTHER SERVICE APPOINTMENT AND MORE TIME OFF WORK) JEEP ACKNOWLEDGED "COMPLAINT ABOUT DIM HEADLIGHTS IS PRETTY PREVALENT" &YOU HAVE BEEN "FAIR AND REASONABLE". JAN 17, CHEROKEE SERVICED AGAIN & COPY OF A TECH ASSISTANCE TICKET WAS LEFT ON THE SEAT. REPORT STATES: "CUSTOMER CONCERN: CUSTOMER CANNOT SEE AT NIGHT AND HEADLIGHTS ARE DIM. CONCERN DUPLICATED: YES, DROVE VEHICLE AT NIGHT HEAD LAMPS ARE NOT VERY BRIGHT NEED FOG LAMPS ON ALSO TO SEE. TESTS: DROVE TWO OTHER VEHICLES SAME OPERATION HAVE HAD A LOT OF COMPLAINTS ABOUT LAMPS NOT BRIGHT". THIS IS TAKEN FROM THE REPORT ADMITTING THE HEADLIGHTS DO NOT ILLUMINATE. JAN 21 NO RESOLUTION, TOLD JEEP THEY CAN TAKE THE SUV BACK, I'M NOT WILLING TO COMPROMISE SAFETY. COMPLAINT MOVED TO JEEP RETURNS AFTER MULTIPLE CALLS, ASKED TO TAKE THE VEHICLE TO ANOTHER DEALERSHIP SCHEDULED FOR THIS WEEK. THIS VEHICLE WAS PURCHASED BECAUSE OF CUSTOMER LOYALTY TO JEEP-STILL WAITING ON RESOLUTION. *TR *CN
