IMMOBILIZER GREEN KEY LIGHT WILL NOT GO OFF. I HAVE BEEN TROUBLESHOOTING AND FOUND CORROSION IN THE PCM/ECM CONTROL UNIT THAT IS UNDER THE CENTER COUNSEL. SALT-WATER SOAKED THE CARPETING AND THAT CORRODED THE FRAME OF THE UNIT AND GOT INSIDE AND ONTO THE CIRCUIT BOARD. I CHECKED FOR A RECALL AND THERE IS ONE FOR THIS MODEL AND YEAR. IT ASKED FOR THE VIN # AND IT CAME BACK TELLING ME IT WASN'T INCLUDED IN THE RECALL. MY QUESTION IS WHY OTHER VIN# IS COVERED FOR THIS PROBLEM BUT MINE IS NOT. CORROSION IS CORROSION AND THE CAUSE IS A SALTWATER SOAKED CARPETING NEXT TO THE DRIVERS GAS PEDAL. CAR WAS STATIONARY, PRIVATE DRIVE AND CITY STREET PLEASE EXPLAIN.

EXCESSIVE ENGINE OIL CONSUMPTION CAUSING OIL LEVEL TO GO DOWN TOO SOON (<1000 MILES) AND CAUSING THE VEHICLE TO LOSE POWER AND STALL FOR A FEW SECONDS WHEN MERGING ON TO A FREEWAY OR STARTING IN MOTION AFTER A STOP SIGN OR PRIOR SLOW DOWN. THIS ALMOST CAUSED AN ACCIDENT WHILE MERGING INTO A FREEWAY AFTER SLOWING DOWN AT A YIELD SIGN.

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 ACURA TSX. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE POWER OUTLET WAS BEING USED TO CHARGE A CELL PHONE. WHEN THE REMOVED THE CHARGER FROM THE POWER OUTLET, A SMALL FLAME WAS PRESENT, WHICH EXTINGUISHED INDEPENDENTLY. THE CONTACT SUSTAINED A BURN TO HER RIGHT FINGER. THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE VEHICLE WAS DIAGNOSED BUT THE DEFECT COULD NOT BE DUPLICATED AND NO REPAIRS WERE PERFORMED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE DEFECT. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 63,000.

PURCHASED VEHICLE NEW. AFTER APPROXIMATELY 3 MONTHS OF OWNERSHIP COMPLAINED THAT ODOMETER WAS NOT CORRECT. FURTHER ISSUES INCLUDED REPLACEMENT OF WHEEL BEARINGS TWICE AND EXTREME OIL CONSUMPTION. EACH TIME IS WAS BROUGHT TO THE DEALER THE PROBLEMS WERE IGNORED, DETERMINED TO UNDUPLICATIBLE OR I WAS TOLD NOTHING WAS WRONG. CURRENTLY I SEE THAT THERE ARE TSBS RELATING TO THE STEERING/BEARING ISSUE AND THE OIL CONSUMPTION ISSUE. I REPEATEDLY TRIED TO NO AVAIL TO HAVE THESE PROBLEMS FIXED WITH THE DEALERSHIP AND FILED TWO COMPLAINTS WITH ACURA CORPORATE CUSTOMER RELATIONS AND RECEIVED NO ASSISTANCE. *TR
