PURCHASED THE VEHICLE 2/03/17. ON 12/01/17 WIFE AND 7 YR. OLD DAUGHTER WAS DRIVING THE 2017 F250 VEHICLE ON I205 NORTHBOUND ON GLEN JACKSON BRIDGE IN OREGON. SHE RAN OVER THE EXPANSION JOINT GOING ABOUT 60MPH AND THE THE FRONT OF THE TRUCK STARTED BOUNCING VIOLENTLY. OTHER TRAFFIC MOVED AWAY FROM HER AS SHE WAS LOSING CONTROL OF VEHICLE. SHE WAS ABLE TO BRING THE VEHICLE TO A STOP SAFELY ON THE SHOULDER. WE IMMEDIATELY TOOK THE TRUCK TO THE DEALER WHERE THEY COULD NOT GET THE ISSUE TO REOCCUR. THEY SENT IT OUT THE DOOR IN SAME CONDITION. ISSUE REOCCURRED MANY TIMES. FINALLY I WAS ABLE TO RECORD IT ON VIDEO AND ONLY THEN WOULD WESLIE FORD TAKE IT IN AND DO WORK ON IT. SERVICE WRITER MARIE SAID FORD DID NOT HAVE A REPAIR FOR THIS ISSUE. SHE SAID THEY WOULD PUT SOME SHIMS IN TO HELP. IT DID A BIT. BUT STILL ACTUALLY BOUNCES SO BAD SOMETIMES THAT THE WHEELS LEAVE THE ROAD AND YOU LOSE CONTROL OF STEERING.. CALLED SERVICE MANAGER MARIO AT DEALER AND TOLD HIM WE ARE LUCKY THAT MY WIFE AND DAUGHTER DIDNT GET IN A ACCIDENT, HURT, OR KILLED BECAUSE OF THE TRUCK MALFUNCTION. HE SAID "UNFORTUNATELY SOMETIMES THATS WHAT IT TAKES TO GET SOMETHING DONE". REALLY? I WAS SHOCKED! PLEASE FOLLOW UP WITH THIS AND ENSURE THAT WESLIE FORD, SERVICE WRITERS AND OTHERS ARE AWARE OF THIS ISSUE. PEOPLES LIVES ARE IN DANGER AND AT RISK. ALL I ASK IS THAT FORD STAND BEHIND VEHICLE MALFUNCTIONS AND REPAIR THEM SO THAT PEOPLE ARE SAFE. THANK YOU

WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 65MPH IN THE FAR RIGHT LANE, WEST BOUND ON THE US 60, ABOUT MCCLINTOCK DR IN MESA AZ, IN MY 2018 FORD F250, I HIT A SMALL POT HOLE IN THE PAVEMENT, THE TRUCK INSTANTLY BEGAN JERKING VIOLENTLY. IT RAPIDLY MOVED THE TRUCK TOWARD THE LEFT HAND LANE. IT WAS ALL I COULD DO TO GET THE TRUCK BACK IN MY LANE AND SLOWLY MOVE TO THE SHOULDER. THE VIOLENT WOBBLE DID NOT STOP UNTIL ABOUT 35MPH. I DO NOT KNOW WHAT CAUSED THIS. I GOT OUT TO LOOK AT THE TRUCK, IT APPEARED NORMAL. I GOT BACK ON THE FREEWAY AND IN ABOUT A MILE, HIT A EXPANSION JOINT IN THE ROAD AND CAUSED THE TRUCK TO DO IT AGAIN. I CALLED SAN TAN FORD TO GET THE TRUCK IN TO SERVICE, I DROPPED IT OFF THE SAME DAY. THIS IS AN EXTREME AND VIOLENT WOBBLE WITH NO WARNING SIGNS AND VERY LITTLE ABILITY TO CONTROL THE TRUCK. DEFINITELY A SAFETY CONCERN. I HAVE SINCE RESEARCHED AND FOUND SIMILAR CONCERNS WITH THE 2017 -2019 F250 CALLING IT A DEATH WOBBLE. SOUNDS RIGHT. THE TRUCK HAS UNDER 13000 MILES ON IT. I NOTICED AT THE DEALER, WHILE WALKING WITH THE SERVICE TECH, THE TIRES SEEM TO HAVE STRANGE WEAR PATTERN ON THE OUTSIDE TREAD. IT IS A FULLY STOCK VEHICLE WITH NO ADDITIONS OR ALTERATIONS. ALL ROUTINE MAINTENENCE WORK HAS BEEN DONE AT THE SAN TAN FORD, THE SAME DEALER AS PURCHASE. THE DEALER TOLD ME THERE WAS A BULLETIN OUT ON THE PROBLEM.

THIS SUBMISSION IS THE SECOND NOTICE OF "DEATH WOBBLE' ON MY 2018 FORD F-250 TRUCK. THE TRUCK HAD LESS THEN 14,000 MILES ON IT. IT OCCURRED ON NOVEMBER 9, 2019. I WAS MERGING INTO TRAFFIC ON AN INTERSTATE HIGHWAY AT ABOUT 65-70 MPH AND CROSSED A BRIDGE JOINT WHICH CAUSED THE FRONT WHEELS AND STEERING WHEEL TO SHAKE VIOLENTLY. I SLOWED THE VEHICLE AND WAS ALMOST REAR-ENDED BY A 18 WHEEL SEMI-TRUCK THAT COULDN'T MANEUVER AS IT WAS BEING PASSED BY A SECOND TRUCK ON ONE SIDE AND ANOTHER MERGING CAR ON THE OTHER. I KNEW WHAT THE HAD CAUSED THE ISSUE AS THIS WAS THE SECOND OCCURRENCE IN ONE YEAR. I CONTACTED THE FORD DEALERSHIP ON NOVEMBER 11TH, 2019. THEY INDICATED THEY ARE AWARE OF THE DAMPENER PROBLEM. I HAD THEM INSPECT THE TRUCK ON NOVEMBER 16TH AT WHICH TIME THEY ORDERED THE PARTS TO REPAIR IT. THE SAME WOBBLE OCCURRED ON NOVEMBER 15TH WHILE MY WIFE WAS DRIVING ON A RAMP FROM ONE EXPRESSWAY TO ANOTHER MOVING AT APPROXIMATELY 55 MPH. I RETURNED TO THE DEALERSHIP ON 11/29/19 AND THEY STILL DIDN'T HAVE THE PART. TWO WEEKS LATER THEY NOTIFIED ME THAT THEY HAD THE PART. IT WAS REPAIRED ON 12/16/19. THEY REPLACED THE STEERING DAMPER ASSEMBLY, PART NO. SPO HC3Z 3E651 F. THEY INDICATED THE DAMPENER IS PART OF TSB 19-2274 AND DUE TO LARGE NUMBER OF VEHICLES WITH THE SAME ISSUE, THE PART IS HARD TO OBTAIN. MY WIFE IS NOW LEERY ABOUT DRIVING THE VEHICLE.

LOSS OF CONTROL AT SPEEDS GREATER THAN 50 MPH AFTER RUNNING OVER A POTHOLE OR ROUGH ROAD SURFACE. THE FRONT TIRES START TO BOUNCE OR OSCILLATE AND STEERING BECOMES DANGEROUSLY ERRATIC. YOU HAVE TO IMMEDIATELY HIT THE BRAKES HARD TO LOWER THE SPEED. EVERYTHING LOOSE IN THE CABIN CAN BEGINS MOVING AROUND AND THE STEERING WHEEL IS HARD TO HOLD. IF YOU ARE IN HEAVY TRAFFIC AT SPEEDS OF 60-70 MPH THERE IS VERY REAL DANGER OF BEING HIT FROM BEHIND WHILE TRYING TO REGAIN CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE.
