THE LAST TWO MUSTANGS I PURCHASED (BOTH WERE NEW CARS) DEVELOPED ELECTRICAL ISSUES AFTER THE WARRANTY EXPIRED. MY CURRENT 2011 MUSTANG HAS HAD NUMEROUS ELECTRICAL ISSUES WITHIN THE CABIN OF THE CAR. IN ADDITION TO THE ELECTRICAL ISSUES, THE HOOD DEVELOPED PROBLEMS WITH THE PAINT SUCH AS BUBBLING, PEELING AND RUSTING. MY FRUSTRATION WITH FORD GROWS MORE INTENSE EACH TIME THE AIR-CONDITIONER, ALONG WITH NUMEROUS OTHER DEVICES ASSOCIATED WITH THE DASHBOARD, QUITS OPERATING AND THE WINDOWS WILL NOT FUNCTION. I OFTEN FIND MYSELF ENCOUNTERING THIS ISSUE ON A NINETY PLUS DEGREE DAY. THE ELECTRICAL ISSUE CAN OCCUR WHEN MOVING OR AT A COMPLETE STOP. THERE IS NO PATTERN TO WHEN IT HAPPENS, OR WHICH ELECTRICAL ITEMS WILL QUIT FUNCTIONING. IT DOES HAPPEN MORE OFTEN WITH WARMER TEMPERATURES AND THE AIR-CONDITIONER IS IN USE. HOWEVER, IT ALSO OCCURS WHEN THE AIR-CONDITIONER IS NOT IN USE.

MY MOTHER BOUGHT THIS CAR BRAND NEW, THE NEIGHBORS HACKED INTO THE SYNC SYSTEM ONCE AND HAD ISSUES OUT OF RADIO SINCE, BUT SHE'S NOT CONCERNED OVER THAT, THE 6SPEED TRANSMISSION WILL SHIFT ON ITS ON, BE RUNNING 55 AND DOWNSHIFT TO FIRST, AND GO TO PULL OUT IN 6TH AND HAD ALMOST GOT HER HIT MORE THAN ONCE , I HOOKED COMPUTER TO IT RESET EVERYTHING TO FACTORY EXCEPT THE MY KEY AND BLUETOOTH WHICH NEIGHBORS HACKED, BUT I TOOK DOWN THE RD AND DRIVING NORMAL TO SET SHIFTING POINTS, I WAS IN A 60 MPH ZONE GOING 55 AND LUCKILY NO ONE WAS BEHIND ME IT DECIDED THAT 1RST GEAR WAS NESSASARY GEAR AT 55 AND I FISH TAILED UNTIL I SHIFTED INTO N, BUT SHE IS OLDER AND JUST PAID IT OFF, AND NOW SINCE POLICE WOULDN'T HELP US AGAINST THEIR OWN FAMILY I. WASH CO TN WE HAD MOVE AND HER CAR IS ONLY WAY SHE HAD TO WORK, MY CARS ARE ALSO ELECTRONICALLY DISABLED AT THIS TIME , ONLY CAR I HAVE IS MANUEL TRANS AND SHE CAN'T SHIFT GEARS, SHE HELPS EVERYONE AND IS A NURSE YET WE CAN'T GET AN ONE HELP HER AND WHERE SHE MOVED HAD BROKE HER , PLEASE TELL ME A WAY I CAN GET HER A RELIABLE FIX, FROM WHAT I'VE SEEN FORD SHOULD WENT A RECALL. SHE HAS NO CHOICE BUT TO TAKE HER CHANCES SINCE MY CAR GAS TANK WAS SUGARED , IT'S GETTING WORSE AND ONLY DOES IN CERTAIN AREAS NEAR SUB STATIONS FOR SOME REASON.AND I AM DISABLED BUT NOT DRAWING ANYTHING JUST WORK ON CARS, SINCE GATEWAY AUTO BODY SHUT DOWN, TRYING MY BEST JUST GET BY. ANY HELP OR REFERENCES WOULD BE APPRECIATED . TY

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2011 FORD MUSTANG. WHILE DRIVING 75 MPH, THE WRENCH ICON ILLUMINATED ON THE INSTRUMENT PANEL AND THE VEHICLE DECELERATED IMMEDIATELY. THE VEHICLE WAS COASTED TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD AND TURNED OFF. THE CONTACT RESTARTED THE VEHICLE AND THE WRENCH DISAPPEARED. THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE, BUT DID NOT OFFER ASSISTANCE SINCE THE VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED IN A RECALL. THE FAILURE WAS NOT REMEDIED. THE CONTACT RECEIVED NOTIFICATION OF NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 15V319000 (AIR BAGS); HOWEVER, THE PART TO DO THE REPAIR WAS UNAVAILABLE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE MANUFACTURER EXCEEDED A REASONABLE AMOUNT OF TIME FOR THE RECALL REPAIR. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE ISSUE. THE CONTACT HAD NOT EXPERIENCED A FAILURE WITH THE AIR BAGS. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 58,000.

CODE GIVEN WAS P2111....THROTTLE ACUATOR CONTROL SYSTEM STUCK OPEN UPON DOING RESEARCH HAVE FOUND NUMEROUS COMPLAINTS ON SAME MODEL CAR AS MINE ....ALSO FORD ESCAPE HAS SAME ISSUE AND FORD HAS EXTENDED WARRANTY TO FIX THE PROBLEM .......CONSUMER SATISFACTION PROGRAM 13N03. I CONTACTED MY LOCAL FORD DEALER AND THEY SAY NOT RELATED TO MY CAR ...APPARENTLY THIS MAY BE THE SAME ISSUE AS MINE ....NO HELP FROM THEM THOUGH

DRIVING UP HILL GOING ABOUT 20. ORANGE WRENCH ICON COMES ON AND I LOSE ALL ACCELERATION. HAD TO PULL OVER GOING UP A HILL LOSING ACCELERATION FAST WHEN CARS ARE PARKED ON THE SIDE OF THE ROAD. BARELY MADE IT TO A TURN AND PARKED MY CAR. HAD TO TURN THE CAR OFF AND WAIT A MINUTE AND TURN IT BACK ON. TURNED AROUND AND WENT HOME. CALLED FORD DEALERSHIP AND ASKED WHAT COULD BE THE ISSUE. THE MECHANIC SAID IT COULD BE ONE OF TWO THINGS. TOOK THE CAR IN TO GET A DTC CODE AND THEY COULDN'T FIND IT. THE MECHANIC SAID IT WAS SAFE TO DRIVE. 4 DAYS LATER THE SAME THING HAPPENED GOING 60. HAD TO PULL OVER AND RESTART THE IGNITION. ALMOST GOT REAR ENDED. TOOK IT TO THE DEALER AGAIN. NO CODE. THEY TELL ME IT IS SAFE TO DRIVE STILL. THREE DAYS LATER IT HAPPENS AGAIN ON THE SAME ROAD GOING 60. CERTAIN PART OF THIS ROAD HAVE NO PLACE TO PULL OVER. HAVE TO DRIFT MY CAR FOR A BIT TO GET TO A SAFE AREA. ALMOST GET REAR ENDED. CALL DEALERSHIP. THEY TELL ME THE EARLIEST THEY CAN SEE ME IS ONE WEEK AWAY. THIS MORNING ON THE WAY TO WORK IT CRAPS OUT ON ME 5 TIMES IN 20 MINUTES. LUCKILY IT WAS 5 AM AND THERE WERE FEW PEOPLE ON THE ROAD. I DO THE SAME THING AND RESTART THE CAR. I USED MY TUNER THIS TIME AND GOT A CODE OF P2111 - THROTTLE BODY ACTUATOR CODE. I KNOW THIS HAS BEEN AN ISSUE WITH OTHER FORDS AS WELL AND CHECKING THE MESSAGE BOARDS FOR THE MUSTANGS AND I HAVE SEEN QUITE A FEW OF THESE INCIDENTS, BUT I DID NOT SEE WHERE THE NHTSA WAS LOOKING AT THE MUSTANGS. MAYBE THIS SHOULD BE LOOKED INTO BEFORE A LAWSUIT HAPPENS BECAUSE OF THIS? THIS CAR IS NOT SAFE TO DRIVE NO MATTER WHAT THEY TELL ME. I WILL CALL THE DEALERSHIP THIS MORNING AND GIVE THEM THE CODE SO THEY CAN FINALLY FIX MY CAR. *TR

I WAS DRIVING THE CAR ON A CITY STREET AT APPROXIMATELY 30 MPH. WHEN I ACCELERATED, THE ENGINE STARTED EXTREME SHAKING AND THEN SHUT DOWN. FORTUNATELY, NO ONE WAS BEHIND ME, SO I DID NOT GET HIT. I THEN WAS ABLE TO RESTART THE CAR, BUT EACH TIME I STOPPED AT A LIGHT, THE CAR WOULD STALL OUT AGAIN. I WAS ABLE TO GET TO A NEARBY FORD DEALER. THEY REPAIRED THE CAR FREE OF CHARGE (IT WAS UNDER WARRANTY) AND TOLD ME THAT THE ISSUES WAS THAT THERE WAS A DEFECTIVE COMPUTER CHIP WHICH CAUSED THE ENGINE TO SHUT DOWN. FORD HAS NOT CONTACTED ME TO DISCUSS THE INCIDENT. *TR

I HAD TWO INCIDENTS OF UNINTENDED ACCELERATION IN MY 2012 FORD MUSTANG GT AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION PREMIUM PKG. THESE TWO INCIDENTS OCCURRED ON THE SAME DAY MARCH 5, 2013. THE FIRST WAS AFTER I PICKED UP MY CAR FROM ITS GARAGE OF SEVERAL WEEKS AT LUNCH AND DROVE BACK TO WORK. I HAD GONE ABOUT TWO BLOCKS FROM MY GARAGE AND WAS BRAKING TO SLOW DOWN TO MAKE A RIGHT HAND TURN WHEN THE CAR DOWN SHIFTED AND ACCELERATED BY ITSELF WHILE I WAS PRESSING THE BRAKE PEDAL. I WAS GOING ABOUT 5 MPH WHEN THIS ALL STARTED. IT LASTED FOR ABOUT 3 SECONDS AND THEN THE CAR RELEASED AND STOPPED THE ACCELERATION AND I WAS ABLE TO SLOW DOWN AND MAKE MY RIGHT HAND TURN. I CONTINUED ON BACK TO WORK AND COMPLAINED TO MY CO-WORKER ABOUT WHAT HAD HAPPENED AND HOW I WAS BEGINNING TO BECOME AFRAID OF THE MUSTANG. HE IS MY WITNESS ABOUT THIS HAPPENING BEFORE THE SECOND INCIDENCE OCCURRED. LATER ON I LEFT WORK TO GO HOME AND ON THE WAY HOME IT HAPPENED AGAIN A SECOND TIME ONLY THIS TIME MUCH STRONGER. I WAS IN BUMPER TO BUMPER TRAFFIC GOING UNDER INTERSTATE HWY 820 BRIDGE IN FORT WORTH TO GO UNDER THE BRIDGE AFTER GOING THROUGH A TRAFFIC LIGHT ON EACH SIDE TO MAKE A LEFT HAND TURN TO GET ON THE WEST BOUND IH820. WELL BECAUSE OF THE TRAFFIC YOU HAVE TO STOP AT ONE LIGHT ON THE SOUTH SIDE OF THE BRIDGE AND THEN AGAIN STOP TO GET THROUGH THE SECOND LIGHT ON THE NORTH SIDE OF THE BRIDGE TO TURN LEFT. ANYWAY THERE WAS A LARGE SEMI-TRUCK HAULING ROCKS IN FRONT OF ME AND I STAYED BACK ABOUT 60 FEET SO AS NOT TO GET THE ROCKS ON NEW CAR. HE WENT DOWN TO THE OTHER LIGHT WHICH WAS RED AND STOPPED I WAS GOING ABOUT 5 MPH AGAIN AND STARTED TO BRAKE WAY BACK FROM HIM BECAUSE OF THE ROCKS AND THE RED LIGHT. THE CAR AGAIN ACCELERATED ON ITS OWN WHILE I WAS PRESSING THE BRAKE PEDAL. I FOUGHT IT THE WHOLE WAY BUT IT WOULD NOT LET RELEASE TILL 15 FEET FROM TRUCK. I THEN CRASHED. INCIDENT: WHILE WAITING IN THE LEFT TURN LANE FOR THE LEFT TURN LIGHT TO TURN GREEN I HAD MY FOOT ON THE BRAKE. I WAS BEHIND ANOTHER LEFT TURNING VEHICLE. WHEN THE LIGHT CHANGED I TOOK MY FOOT OFF THE BRAKE SO TO APPLY PRESSURE ON THE ACCELERATOR. HOWEVER, BEFORE I PUT MY FOOT ON THE ACCELERATOR THE VEHICLE LUNGED FORWARD.
