TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 FORD EXPLORER. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING AT VARIOUS SPEEDS, THE REAR END OF THE VEHICLE WOULD SHAKE AND VIBRATE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE LOCAL DEALER PACKEY WEBB FORD LOCATED AT 1815 W. OGDEN AVE, DOWNERS GROVE, IL 60515-2615, WHO INDICATED THAT THE REAR SUSPENSION TOE LINKS WERE FAULTY AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE TOE LINKS HAD FRACTURED WHILE BEING TESTED AT THE DEALER. THE CONTACT WAS LATER INFORMED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN THE NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 20V675000 (SUSPENSION). THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE HAD EXPERIENCED THE SAME FAILURE LISTED IN THE RECALL. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 140,000.

THE CONTACT STATED THAT UPON STARTING THE VEHICLE, THE VEHICLE WAS SHIFTED INTO DRIVE AND THE VEHICLE SHUDDERED AND ACCELERATED INDEPENDENTLY WITHOUT WARNING. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO AUTONATION FORD VALENCIA 23920 CREEKSIDE RD, VALENCIA, CA 91355 TO BE DIAGNOSED. A DIAGNOSTIC WAS PERFORMED AND THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT HER VEHICLE HAD EXPERIENCED TRANSMISSION FAILURE AND WAS GIVEN AN ESTIMATE FOR THE REPAIR. THE VEHICLE WAS INCLUDED IN NHTSA RECALL NUMBER: 19V435000 (SUSPENSION). THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE BUT OFFERED NO FURTHER ASSISTANCE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 111,000.

NOW FORD SERVICE IS TELLING ME THAT IT AFFECT MY MOTOR AND TRANSMISSION MOUNTS BUT I HAVE TO PAY $900 TO REPLACE THOSE . VEHICLE IS VIBRATING AND SHAKING OVER 70MPH . THE MOUNTS ARE HERE TO MINIMISE THE VIBRATION DUE TO ROAD DEFECTED , IF THE SUSPENSION DON'T DO ITS WORK , AND IT WASN'T BECAUSE OF THE RECALL ... VEHICLE IS ONLY 90K MILES

FRONT SWAY BAR LINKS HAVE BEEN KNOCKING OVER 1 YEAR AGO. AT THE TIME MY CAR WAS ONLY 5 YEARS OLD. AT FIRST THE FORD DEALERSHIP THEY THOUGHT IT WAS VALVE BODY IN THE SUSPENSION THE FIRST TIME THEY CHECKED. EXPLORER WAS JERKING WHEN I SLOWED DOWN TO A STOP. THE SECOND TIME I TOOK IT IN THEY SAID IT WAS THE THROTTLE BODY. THEY REPLACED THAT BECAUSE I COMPLAINED THAT I HAVE HAD SO MANY PROBLEMS WITH A 5 TO 6 YEAR OLD CAR. ONLY HAS 77,000 MILES ON IT.

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 FORD EXPLORER. WHILE DRIVING VARIOUS SPEEDS, THE STEERING WHEEL SUDDENLY BECAME VERY DIFFICULT TO TURN IN EITHER DIRECTION. THE FAILURE OCCURRED ON MULTIPLE OCCASIONS AND THE FUSE WAS REINSERTED IN ORDER TO REPAIR THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. ALSO, WHILE DRIVING, THE PASSENGER SIDE OF THE VEHICLE WOBBLED AND VIBRATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO BILL FLICK FORD (737 NORTH FREEWAY SERVICE RD, HUNTSVILLE, TX) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE SUSPENSION WAS FAULTY. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. FURTHERMORE, WHILE OPERATING THE VEHICLE, THE DOOR AJAR WARNING MESSAGE ERRONEOUSLY DISPLAYED, THE INTERIOR DOME LIGHT REMAINED ILLUMINATED, AND THE DOORS WOULD NOT LOCK. THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURES WAS NOT DETERMINED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURES. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 800. *TR

WHEN WE FIRST RECEIVED THE VEHICLE WE WENT ON A ROAD TRIP TO AZ AND THE COMPUTER COMPLETELY BLACKED OUT ON THE DASH AND THE SUSPENSION WAS SUPER WOBBLY. SO WE CALLED TO MAKE AN APPT TO BRING IT IN AS SOON AS WE GOT BACK IN TO TOWN BUT IT WAS A 2 WEEK WAIT FOR AN APPT. THEY KEPT OUR CAR FOR THREE WEEKS AND AS SOON AS WE GOT IT BACK IT WAS THE SAME PROBLEM. SO WE ASKED TO MAKE ANOTHER APPT AND THIS TIME THEY KEPT OUR CAR FOR A WHOLE MONTH AND GOT IT BACK AND THE SAME PROBLEM. ANY LITTLE BUMP OR INDENT IN THE ROAD AND THE CAR IS WOBBLY ALL OVER SOUNDS LIKE THE BEARINGS. WE HAVE YET TO GET IT FIXED AND I SEEN THERE WAS A RECALL ON 2014 FORD EXPLORERS FOR THE REAR BEARINGS. I CALLED THE NUMBER FOR RECALLS AND THEY SAID THEY DIDN'T SEE ONE FOR THIS VIN BUT IT'S THE SAME PROBLEM FROM THE RECALL IN 2016 FOR THE SAME YEAR VEHICLES.

DRIVING ON NYS THRUWAY AT 70 MPH. ROADWAY DRY, WEATHER IS CLEAR, DRY AND SUNNY. SUDDENLY AND WITHOUT ANY WARNING SIGNS THE VEHICLE VIOLENTLY LURCHED TO THE LEFT, RIGHT, SIDEWAYS, ETC. THE CAR WAS UNABLE TO BE STEERED AND WAS COMPLETELY OUT OF THE DRIVER'S CONTROL AND NOT RESPONDING TO ANY INPUT. THIS REPEATED ITSELF UNTIL THE CAR SCRUBBED SPEED AND ENDED UP ON THE ROAD SHOULDER. LUCKILY THERE WERE NO OTHER VEHICLES ON OUR SIDE OR FOLLOWING CLOSELY BEHIND WHEN THE WILD RIDE OCCURRED. WE ARE ALSO FORTUNATE THAT THE CAR DIDN'T ROLL OVER DURING THE SIDEWAYS MOVEMENTS- IT CAME CLOSE TO IT. AT THIS POINT THE CAR'S STEERING WOBBLE WAS SO SEVERE THAT IT WAS IMPOSSIBLE TO OPERATE. THE CAR WAS TOWED TO OUR LOCAL FORD DEALER AND UPON EXAMINATION IT WAS DETERMINED THAT THE REAR SUSPENSION TOE LINK HAD SNAPPED CAUSING THE KNUCKLE AND WHEEL BEARING TO SHIFT WHICH THEN CAUSED THE INCIDENT. THE FORD PEOPLE COULD OFFER NO EXPLANATION AS TO THE CAUSE OF THIS CATASTROPHIC FAILURE.THIS EXACT FAILURE IS ADDRESSED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN #16V245 AND WAS SUBJECT TO FORD RECALL #16S18 IN APRIL 2016. THE RECALL APPLIED TO 2014 EXPLORERS- MINE IS A 2013. THIS CAR HAS BEEN REPAIRED AT MY EXPENSE ($1600) BUT I WILL NOT DRIVE IT AGAIN. THERE EXIST A POTENTIALLY FATAL FLAW WITH THESE VEHICLES AND WE CONSIDER OURSELVES FORTUNATE TO ESCAPE WITH NO INJURY OR WORSE. IN RESEARCHING I FOUND A YOUTUBE VIDEO OF "OUT OF CONTROL SUV ON INTERSTATE" (FORD EXPLORER)WHICH ACCURATELY PORTRAYS WHAT HAPPENED TO US! PLEASE CONTACT ME IF YOU NEED ANY FURTHER INFORMATION REGARDING THIS INCIDENT.

WHILE DRIVING THE PASSENGER SIDE STARTED 'CLUNKING' WHILE TURNING. THE NOISE HAPPENED IF THE VEHICLE WAS STATIONARY OR IN MOTION. WE HAD THE STRUT REPLACED AND IT FIXED THE ISSUE FOR A LITTLE UNDER 6 WEEKS. ALL REPLACEMENT PETS CAME STRAIGHT FROM FORD. WITHIN 6 WEEKS OF REPLACEMENT THE FORD REPLACEMENT PARTS HAVE NOW GONE BAD AGAIN AND DAMAGED THE CV AXLE CAUSING A TERRIFYING SHAKE WHEN ACCELERATING.

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 FORD EXPLORER. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING AT APPROXIMATELY 5 MPH, THE STEERING WHEEL BECAME DIFFICULT TO MANEUVER WITHOUT WARNING. AS THE CONTACT APPLIED FORCE TO THE STEERING WHEEL IN ORDER TO STEER THE VEHICLE, THE VEHICLE SUDDENLY JERKED TO THE SIDE. AS A RESULT, THE CONTACT CRASHED INTO THE REAR END OF ANOTHER VEHICLE. THE AIR BAGS FAILED TO DEPLOY. UPON INSPECTION, THE CONTACT NOTICED THAT THE LOWER CONTROL ARM IN THE FRONT OF THE VEHICLE HAD FRACTURED. THE CONTACT SUSTAINED MINOR BRUISES AND THE REAR PASSENGER SUSTAINED MINOR NECK BRUISES THAT REQUIRED MEDICAL ATTENTION. A POLICE REPORT WAS NOT FILED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO A DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE CONTROL ARM NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 18,500.
